Answer:	No , the hardware to mount the 2 rails at the bottom of the seat to the post is a bracket which is always part of the post . This is because post sizes vary by bike and the clamp must fit onto the post before it can hold a seat by its rails on the other end. Thomson makes great seat posts and these come with the clamp.

Answer:	i prefer the saddle more narrow and find myself tightening the laces almost weekly but am commuting with the bike the B17 is on. i actually hope to find leather shoe laces given the ties that came with the saddle snapped already making it too short to get taught enough (for me).
