I take such a supplement daily without issues, but I always take them with a meal, or at least some dense bread. Many supplements if taken without food tend to be wasted. They just pass on through without being properly absorbed. A few should be taken on an empty stomach. Do some light research to learn about any supplements you take. They work best if balanced, such as advised by a nutritionist. I take Calcium supplements separately from most other supplements, either at least an hour before or after, and always with food. Even Calcium on an empty stomach can cause upset. BTW: I am just a consumer, I am not a nutritionist. None of my comment should be construed as authoritative advice.
