4 best strider bike training wheels

Strider bike training wheels are accessories designed to help children transition from a balance bike to a traditional pedal bike. These training wheels are specifically made for Strider balance bikes, a popular choice for kids learning to ride. Here's what you need to know about Strider bike training wheels:

  1. Purpose:

    • Strider bike training wheels are intended to provide stability and support to young children who are learning to ride a bike with pedals. They help build confidence and gradually teach kids how to balance on two wheels.
  2. Compatibility:

    • These training wheels are designed to be compatible with Strider balance bikes. Strider is a well-known brand that produces balance bikes tailored for kids as young as 18 months old.
  3. Easy Installation:

    • Strider training wheels are typically easy to install. They attach to the rear wheel axle of a Strider balance bike, providing stability while allowing the child to experience the sensation of balancing.
  4. Adjustable Height:

    • Many Strider training wheels are height-adjustable. This feature allows parents or caregivers to gradually raise the training wheels as the child's balance and confidence improve. Eventually, the training wheels can be raised high enough that they no longer touch the ground, helping the child transition to riding without them.
  5. Learning Progression:

    • The purpose of Strider training wheels is to assist children in transitioning from a balanced bike to a pedal bike without training wheels. They help kids develop essential balance and coordination skills, which are crucial for riding a regular bike.
  6. Stability and Confidence:

    • With training wheels in place, children can focus on pedaling and steering without worrying about falling over. This added stability boosts their confidence and encourages them to continue practicing.
  7. Gradual Removal:

    • As the child becomes more proficient at balancing and riding, parents or caregivers can gradually raise the training wheels to reduce their contact with the ground. This gradual process allows kids to learn to balance on two wheels at their own pace.
  8. Safety Considerations:

    • While training wheels provide stability, it's essential to ensure that they are properly installed and adjusted to prevent accidents. Additionally, children should always wear appropriate safety gear, such as helmets and knee pads.
  9. Transition to Pedal Bikes:

    • Once a child has mastered the art of balancing with training wheels, they can make a smoother transition to a pedal bike. Having already developed balance and steering skills, they typically adapt to pedaling more easily.

In summary, Strider bike training wheels are valuable accessories for kids learning to ride a bike. They offer stability and support, allowing children to develop balance and coordination while gradually building confidence. As a child becomes more skilled, these training wheels can be adjusted and eventually removed to facilitate the transition to a regular pedal bike.

How to Measure Your Child's Stand-Over Height

  • What size bike should I get my child? Easy, the best size bike for your kiddo is the bike that fits them from day one. The best way to do that is measure their inseam.
  • Yeah, but what about their age? Age is more like... an approximate fit. Inseam is an exact fit, trust us.
  • Okay, got it. What's an inseam? Good question. Inseam is the distance between the ground and crotch.
  • So, why is this inseam babble so important? We're all different heights and shapes, even when we're the same age. This is especially true with kids because they grow like crazy. By measuring inseam, you're making sure that your child's bike has the perfect fit.
  • Right, how exactly do I measure this? Have your child stand up really straight with with their shoes on and back to a wall. Place a book between their legs and slide it up the wall to meet the crotch seam of their pants, just like they were sitting on a bike saddle. Measure from the top of the book to the floor and.... Bingo ! You have your inseam.

User questions & answers

Question: whats the difference ST
Answer: Radio flyer makes two versions of this balance bike, one with air tires and one with foam tires. This is the listing for the one with air tires. However Amazon sent me the wrong one the first time. In my opinion the air tires are much nicer - they give more traction and a smother ride, especially if it will be used on uneven road. The foam tires and okay because they don't need upkeep but they are slippy (definitely not good for indoor use) and get rocks and things embedded in them easily.
Question: How much does it weigh? What age group is it geared for
Answer: I suppose it could, but the way the seat is facing makes it more like an easy 180 degree - I cannot remember if the seat easily swivels to make it around 360. Either way, my son & his friends are still obsessed with this toy. One of our best purchases!
Question: Is the Sport worth the $20 upgrade over the Classic version? Is this bike good for a child 36 inches tall
Answer: The seat does not turn but the digger itself turns 180o ,dumps sand and snow....my little buddy loves it !!!
Question: What is the actual height from ground to seat top? it says 18m-5y but it would be more helpful to just know the lowest seat height!\
Answer: 350 lbs? Ya, this should work out great for him. Big plus is it will most likely become permanently imbedded in him for fun anytime, anyplace.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this Classic version have a lever to quickly adjust the seat up and down
Answer: it has an Allum key slot, that really easily adjusts the seat....
Question: what kind of packaging does this come in. Is it descrete packing
Answer: The packaging is not discreet. A label is put on the Strider box that has images of the bike. If you check off "this is a gift" at checkout though, the Strider box will be nested into a plain brown box that is discreet.
Question: What are the tires made out of? Would this be good for grass or dirt
Answer: Tires are flat-free EVA polymer, according to info on official website. The bike is good for any surface I would think, as it is all about the rider powering it around. I've seen kids buzzing around on these bikes on dirt, concrete and grass. Check out strider videos on YouTube and see for yourself.
Question: What's the seat height range
Answer: Hello, this is Kent with Strider Bikes. The seat height range on the Strider 12 Classic is 11" to 16". An optional XL Seatpost and Saddle extends from 15" to 19". The Strider 12 Sport model includes this XL Seat post and Saddle. Typical age range for the Classic would be 18 months to 3 years old :)
