10 best cheap bicycles
Common types include balance bikes for toddlers, single-speed bikes for young children, and multi-speed bikes for older kids.
Budget-Friendly Brands: Some bicycle manufacturers offer budget-friendly options without compromising on safety or quality. Look for well-known brands that produce affordable kids' bikes.
Size Matters: Ensure that the bike is the right size for your child. Kids' bikes are typically categorized by wheel size, so choose one appropriate for your child's height and age.
Used Bikes: Consider buying a used kids' bike. Many parents sell gently used bikes that their children have outgrown. Just be sure to inspect the bike for safety and functionality before purchasing.
Online Retailers: Check online retailers for deals and discounts on kids' bikes. They often offer a wide range of options, and you can compare prices easily.
Local Bike Shops: Visit local bike shops and ask about any sales or clearance items. They may have budget-friendly models or last year's models available at a lower cost.
Seasonal Sales: Keep an eye out for seasonal sales and promotions, especially during back-to-school or holiday seasons. Retailers often offer discounts on kids' bikes during these times.
Bike Accessories: Don't forget to budget for essential accessories like helmets, knee and elbow pads, and bike locks to ensure your child's safety and the security of the bike.
Safety Considerations: Regardless of the price, prioritize safety when choosing a bike. Make sure it has functioning brakes, reflectors, and a comfortable, properly fitted helmet for your child.
Test Ride: If possible, allow your child to test ride the bike before making a purchase. This ensures that they are comfortable with the size and feel of the bike.
Maintenance: Remember that even inexpensive bikes require maintenance. Regularly check and maintain tire pressure, brakes, and other components to ensure the bike remains safe to ride.
Hand-Me-Downs: Consider asking friends or family if they have any kids' bikes they no longer need. Hand-me-down bikes can be a cost-effective way to get a bike for your child.
By keeping these tips in mind and doing some research, you can find a budget-friendly kids' bike that provides a safe and enjoyable cycling experience for your child.

User questions & answers
Question: | How come this stand is a good hundred bucks more expensive than the chinese one |
Answer: | FYI to all you guys , this stand is also made in China.. Just saying.. Some of Park tools stuff is really great and has the quality you expect from the company, this stand however I don't think is any better than the "Bike Hand" brand repair stand. The only thing this stand has over the bike hand one is the metal clamp but then it has cheaper stuff on the rest of the stand so I would say they are about even. Park Tools does charge too much for some of their stuff when you compare it to other brands, especially when you find this stand is also made in China anyways. |
Question: | Does it extend heigh enough to work on a bike without bending down |
Answer: | Most definitely it extends high enough. |
Question: | Does this fold up without assembly when not in use |
Answer: | It folds up while assembled. I use it daily for work and have to unfold and fold every day to fit in the back seat of my truck. You have to assemble it out of the box it's sent to you in however. |
Question: | How much weight will it hold |
Answer: | According to the Park Tool website this tool will hold up to 80 lbs if the bike is centered over the legs. I mounted my 67 lb. Rad Mini e-bike on this stand and the stand felt solid. |

Founded in 1895, Schwinn is an American icon, building some of the best-known and best-loved bicycles of all time. From its very beginning in Chicago, Illinois, the Schwinn mission has been to develop bicycles that allow people to experience the confidence and freedom that comes from riding a bike. Ride with the ease of knowing your child is safe with the Schwinn Deluxe Bicycle Wheel Mounted Child Seat. This frame-mounted rear bike seat is designed for toddlers and children. Thanks to a lightweight, polypropylene construction, children ride safe and comfortable close to mom or dad perched on the rear wheel of an adult bike. Quick-release, five-point harness, leg restraints, and padded cross bar add rider safety while on the road. Assembly is easy on most adult bicycles with the use of only a screwdriver. A seat spring guard and bike spoke guard shields hands from moving bike parts. This child seat is not meant for use with bikes that have rear suspensions. Use only on adult bikes. Rider should wear harness and helmet at all times.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is anyone able to tell me exactly what tools are needed to install this bike seat |
Answer: | Not that I am aware of. The bat can actually hold 200lbs, it just depends on what you are comfortable carrying. |
Question: | Can this fit on a mountain bike with 29" wheels |
Answer: | once your child falls asleep, their legs will give out. you would have to walk at a significant angle to fully support his weight while keeping him asleep and holding him at the same time. Before the piggyback rider, I carried my 5 year old around Disney piggyback style and he fell asleep so I let him sleep while I walked bent over as he drooled down my neck. It would be similar with a sleeping child in the piggyback carrier. |
Question: | My bike got stolen along with the mounting bracket. I still have the child seat. Where can I buy a replacement mounting bracket? Thanks |
Answer: | Hailee thanx for contacting us. We do have a picture of a mother with baby in front and the older kid at the back. Unfortunately this message wont allow an attachment, so if you would like to email me i will send you the picture. [email protected] |
Question: | Is there a rear rack which can be bought separately that this carrier can be put on? We'd like to use it on our second bike |
Answer: | Thank you for asking. We advertise the limit as 50lbs. However in the interests of safety The Piggyback Rider is constructed to withstand double that weight. 50lbs seems to be the upper limit of what people are comfortable carrying. If you can manage the weight, you should be fine. The height limit is also not a problem as there should be enough adjustment in the bar. Ride the Bar! |

The perfect bike for the in-betweener
When they are too big for their old 16" with training wheels bike and yet still too small for a big-boy 20" bike....enter the Switch. It fits that inbetweener kid that is just a little short for his age, so the next side up looks way big...and might be dangerous to ride. The Switch is the bike that will bridge the gap.
One of the great details is that there is a coaster brake and a front and rear handbrake so this is a great way to transition to hand bike controls. They choose how they want to stop.
And it is from the brand that you remember that makes mountain and BMX bikes for the pros and for cool kids like yours.
How it all began:
Founded in 1974 in a Southern California garage, Mongoose was born when founder Skip Hess designed the MotoMag One wheel to make BMX bikes stronger with a rad new look. From there, BMX riding turned from an underground hobby to a full-blown phenomenon, with Mongoose's innovative products continually forging the sport's exciting new path. Mongoose riders dominated the BMX race circuit in the 1980s, while the company continued to push bicycle boundaries by pioneering the first wave of full-suspension mountain bike frames. Today, Mongoose continues to create products that push riders to thrilling new limits, whether it's ripping through gnarly mountain trails, stomping tricks in the park or owning the urban jungle. From reinventing the wheel to our current line of BMX, mountain and pavement bikes, Mongoose is synonymous with pure, unadulterated performance that always keeps the party going.
