HOW DOES A 'CLICK' TORQUE WRENCH WORK?

The clicker mechanism works by spring tension inside the wrench.

When the level of torque has been achieved, there will be a click which will be felt and/or heard - the more tension that's applied to the spring, the stronger the click. IMPORTANT: at low Nm settings under 5 Nm the click can be ‘subtle', this is normal for all click torque wrenches. We, therefore, recommend operating the torque wrench in a 'quiet environment'. The click will be ‘stronger’ when used between 5 and 20 Nm.

The torque wrench should be turned slowly, steadily and smoothly, stopping when you feel and/or hear the click.

Answer:	The bracket is metal, but the clamp to hold the bracket to the vertical bar is plastic. I have not had any issues with it breaking. My only complaint so far is that the clamp for the bike is quite large. It is too wide to hold my wife's bike by the seatpost.

Truing your rear derailleur, adjusting limits and cable tension, can often be frustrating and the outcome may not be the one you expect. One of the most frequent issues with iffy shifting, and drivetrain noise can be traced back to the alignment of your rear derailleur with the cassette, and the bike component responsible for that is the rear derailleur hanger.



Derailleurs hangers are designed to save rear derailleurs and sacrificed in case of a severe crash, but this also means that they're prone to bending on minor impacts like bike falling, inadequate storage or transportation. A bent derailleur hanger will manifest as dodgy, inconsistent shifting and drivetrain noise that no amount of cable tension adjustments, limit-screw fiddling or chain cleaning will solve.

Answer:	I haven't been caught in the rain. I keep a waterproof pouch folded up in mine in case it rains. I don't carry anything that can't get wet in the seat bag.

Answer:	very secure - the strap is nice and thick and not flimsy at all. I would be 100% fine storing my wallet/keys in it while on a mtn bike. It's not the biggest storage bag though - check the dimensions to make sure your wallet will fit in it

Answer:	This is the MLP-1.2 No tool is required to assemble a quick link/powerlink.
Question:	It opens the links fine, but can't get it to close them, is their a trick
Answer:	No trick that I could see. Just put the outside of the jaws in the links and open the handles until you hear a click. I think they are great! So much easier than trying to pull the chain to get it to click into place. There are two versions of these pliers. One does not have the correct shape on the outside of the claws to set the master link.

Question:	will gear brush tool fit 12spd
Answer:	It will work with SRAM 12 speed and Ultegra 11 speed (I have used it on both). I would be shocked if it wouldn't work with my [sadly long gone] 6 speed bike from 1983. Chain widths have changed a little, but the brushes are not a fine tuned implement - they just slather the metal bits.
Question:	How important is it to have a bike stand in order to clean your chain, and does a dummy hub eliminate the need for a stand
Answer:	I would think that a dummy hub would work. All you really need is an ability to keep the bike stationary roll rotating the chain, keeping the chain parallel to the ground. if you tilt the chain, the fluid starts pouring out of the device. I use my bike stand, and then pedal the bike backward.
Question:	How can used cb-4 bio chainbrite degreaser be disposed of in an environmentally safe way

Answer:	Clean chain is key to shifting performance (cleaner shifts & less dropped chains). Maybe even more important, dirty chains wear down chain rings & cassettes much faster. This tool is great. Get a good degreaser too, and you’ll be in good shape.
Question:	What’s the difference between the new 5.3 version and the
Answer:	I had an earlier version and I would say the major difference is the 5.3 version is made of sturdier material, less brittle plastic. Also the clips that hold it in place seem to be more firmly attached. The handle on this version can be attached to either side as well. I think that is to accommodate e-bikes, where the chain is run in the opposite direction for cleaning compared to road bikes.
