Below is shown just the Anywhere with Topcage Bottle Cage mounted on a frame. This is exactly the unit that is shipped when this product is ordered. You can see here the straps are long enough to go around a very thick frame and are completely adjustable. Straps can be trimmed to a shorter length if frame diameter is smaller.

Answer:	It didn't take long at all to expand to 4 inches depth. However it was over 5 inches too short on length for an average bed.
