I was wondering why you would be in this situation but I thought maybe this would be part of a permanent installation or something. So I went back and forth and after remembering that aluminum is a highly conductive metal, I'd say it seems likely that you would at least increase the potential for lightening strikes somewhat even if only a little by carrying a bag of aluminum with you. But you asked about whether or not it's vulnerable and that's a little too vague. I'd say, like almost everything, it's technically vulnerable to lightening strikes. How much, I can't say but I'm sure it's more than a regular tarp. |

The tarp will tear out of its rivets long before the pipes come apart. Buy good heavy tarps from Amazon. The ones from Wal-Mart and Lowe's won't last the summer. Good Luck. |
