Answer: I didn’t try that specific scenario, but wouldn’t recommend it be very close to an open flame. I don’t think it would be sturdy enough to hold up.

Answer: Of course! Although at 70° I might sleep on top of it with a light blanket so I don't get to warm.It is a very comfortable sleeping bag!!I think the 30° they mention is so you know you will stay warm in colder temperatures.

Answer: I can confirm if you purchase two of these bags, you can zip them together. The downside is it leaves a 2-2.5 inch gap in the middle at the feet area exposed.

Question: how does this compare to the coleman sunridge? I heard the lining from that sleeping bag is no good. Main use for me is indoor lab/guest
Answer: We use it on canoe trips...where weight and packability isn't as much of a concern. I made my own compression bag and got it down to about 18" long and about 9-10" round...if you bought a nice compression bag you would probably be able to compress a little more...not very small, but for the price and warmth we are more than happy. We've had nights of close to 32 degrees sleeping in hammocks with no padding underneath us...I was shivering in my bag (and have gotten a new bag), but he was nice and warm in the Wenzel. I don't have a scale to weigh it, but I don't consider it heavy. If we were to hike I would bring it and if it didn't fit "in" the pack, would put it in a waterproof bag and just attach it to the outside. Happy trails!

Answer: The Wenzel Santa Fe 20 Degree Mummy bag does not come with a compression sack, but a stuff bag. The stuff bag is roughly 18"x8". I have used a US Military compression sack, available through Amazon that can reduce this bag down to about 10"x8".
