Answer:	Yes. Mantles are the globe like membranes that contain the burning gas which gives off the light.
Question:	This lamp it’s advertising that you don’t wed matches to light up and is not true . So I consider this advertising to be false .Why
Answer:	Some of Colemans lanterns, such as the 1000 lumens model, require matches to light while others,such as the Deluxe Perfectflow, have the InstaStart electronic spark ignition. Others models use baterries. The model 1000 clearly states that it requires matches to light.
Question:	How does this lantern compare to the Coleman Compact perfect flow. (Other than the 694 lumen difference
Answer:	HelloLittle Folks Book and Toy is a Coleman dealer. The perfect flow operates the same way except that when you want to store it, the glass shield is protected because the top pulls down. As far as the efficiency of the product, both function and have similar light capacity with the perfect flow a little more luminescence. About Coleman

More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.

Question:	It the ventilator piece supposed to be loose fitting
Answer:	I presume you are referring to the piece atop the lantern, uppermost except for that part of the handle that extends above everything else. The one on mine is not loose fitting. I don't know why, but I was kind of expecting that it might be. Makes me think I had another or other Coleman lantern(s) with a looser fit than this one. I'm sure of it. It bothered me they were loose fitting, but it never caused a problem because the knob holding them in place was tightened down, so the looseness of that piece would have nothing to do with loosening them, and the fact they were loose never led to any excess wind getting into and extinguishing the lantern. So, if yours is tight (but you were expecting it not to be) I don't anticipate that will be a problem. If it is slightly loose, but the knob still tightens down, snug, I anticipate no problem there either.
Question:	It says "features coleman's insta start battery ignition." is there a battery and what kind
Answer:	It's a pezo igniter. No battery.
Question:	Long long do the mantles last on this lantern
Answer:	That's a difficult question. Mantles turn to almost ash after the initial burn. If there is no jarring bumping etc they will last close to 100 hour burn time? I've used them without changing three camping trips in a season. I've even packed up end of one season and fire up with no problem next season. Then again I've put in a new set. Dropped the lantern and as the song goes - ashes ashes we all fall down. Mantles are cheap I always pack extras. Like a good Scout always be prepared. Hope that helps.
