First because of the length of the shovel handle without the shovel head is only 23 inch, which might not be long enough for normal need as a staff, second there is no tip included to be use as a "staff". Answer:	The shovel head is about 8" by 6", so smaller than a regular shovel. Still big enough for light to medium work. The handle is adjustable depending on how many of the handle pieces you use, and can reach full shovel length.

Answer:	Tighten down the fitting above the shovel. If the shovel head moves, turn the ring to the right and it should tighten up. You may have to push it a little to get the threads started if it backed off too much and came off the threads

Answer:	I don’t know what you mean by authentic but they don’t appear to be knock-offs. ASICS are the only athletic shoe I wear. These are great.

Answer:	The speckled area is a shoe support for overpronation. Overpronation is when your ankle rolls inward and can lead to potential pain and injury when we walk or run.
