Answer:	If by 'use it' you mean 'make it drinkable', then no; the LifeStraw won't remove the salt that makes sea water unsafe to drink. So, it's probably not the ideal solution for your yacht's emergency lifeboat kit. If you're boating on freshwater rivers or in swamps, however, it should remove all the particulate crud in that water, making it drinkable.There are personal desalination/emergency hydration kits available (HTI's SeaPack, for example, is available on Amazon) that can be used to make sea water drinkable. Try a web or Amazon search for 'personal desalination' and you should be able to find them. You might also want to consider an emergency solar water still to produce purified, desalinated water.
Question:	will the water purification tablets kill protozoa including giardia and cryptosporidium
Answer:	There's actually no longer a shelf life listed. It was initially 3 years, then 5 years, and now Vestergaard of Switzerland (the manufacturer) has removed the notice completely. They were designed for use in African countries where the constant hot sun degrades any plastic, and the shelf life notice was created in case some users left them outside for years in the sun. Turns out it wasn't much of an issue to worry about, so the shelf life notice has been lifted. You can use it, store it, and use it again without problem. Just be sure it's totally dry inside before storing - in fact you can store it uncapped to be sure.

Answer:	Salt and urea, along with various other substances your body is trying to eliminate, will remain in the filtered urine so it will still taste like pee (whatever that tastes like.) In a desperate survival situation, many people have resorted to drinking their urine. That is ok up to a point. As your dehydration increases, your urine will become increasingly concentrated (dark and even viscous.) It's best to drink urine early in your survival situation since it will be less concentrated and consequently less toxic. That way you are conserving what water you do have longer. Of course, most people will completely exhaust their water supply before they resort to drinking urine. However, drinking highly concentrated urine is probably worse than not drinking it at all. Also, urine is actually sterile inside your bladder but not as it flows through your urethra. Happy drinking!

Question:	can these be used on a water rowing machine
Answer:	DO NOT add chlorine bleach (sodium hypochlorite aka Clorox) to the tank - this is clearly stated on the WaterRower website. It will destroy the polycarbonate. From what I have researched these contain the same chemical disinfectant used in the tablets by WaterRower. It is sodium dichloroisocyanurate (aka troclosene sodium) and has about 60% available chlorine. I would use it at a 1-2 tablets per gallon concentration to start.

Question:	What are the dimensions of the bottle
Answer:	Yes. The pump does not remove chemicals; acids, oil, gasoline, ect. It is best used in waters that have biological agent contamination; bacteria,viruses, amoeba, particulate matter. It cannot be used in salt water.

Answer:	We used the filter pump on a 4 day trip camping and it worked well, but it does take some effort to maintain your water supply as the pumping can take a while and be a little tedious.

Answer:	The only contaminants this product will remove are those with a physical size of .2 micron or greater. This is sufficient to remove bacteria and protozoa. It DOES NOT use any sort of active chemistry in the filtration process, therefore it cannot remove or neutralize any dissolved chemicals, viruses or heavy metals present in the water. Therefore, it is exceedingly unlikely that it would be of any use in a bioterrorism attack.

Answer:	Perhaps copper sulfate.

Answer:	4 years from date of mfg - however if they remain sealed in a temp controlled environment, say less than 90 degrees F -- possibly much longer. All the expiration date means is that's how long the mfg will guarantee it. It may be 100% effective if stored for much longer, but then again, are you willing to risk your health on it?

Answer:	These are individually packaged. I purchased these for emergencies but my son used some on a camping trip. He didn't complain about taste or anything and he didn't contract any diseases either! I think these will work in a pinch.
Question:	How long does it take for these tablets to purify the water
Answer:	30 min to kill bugs in clear good looking water, 4 hours to the real nasty ones like giardia and cryptosparidum in "turbid" water (meaning murky or full of debris, aka the type of water you'd really want to use tablets on). This has been tested and proven in a lab so honestly the "I have never gotten sick" answer is not an indication of the tablet working --> it's an indication of good luck. It really pays to plan ahead with these tablets and get them working BEFORE you need the water so you can give it the full 4 hours if needed. If you need water purified quickly , boil it.

Answer:	That is a good question, Carla. The box does not specify the weight per tablet. With their packaging, all 20 tablets together weigh 14gm. The packaging likely accounts for a good portion of that so I take it the net weight of 8gm on the front of the package refers to all 20 tablets combined. Dividing 8 by 20 I get .4gm per tablet. They are very small, only about 7mm in diameter, so I'm not surprised by the light weight. I also tried putting a single tablet on our weighing scale which goes down to one gram, but not below, and it didn't register at all, so the tablets are definitely under a gram.Keri-Lynn, Four Seasons Survival

Answer:	The packing expiration date = When the tablets are produced and packaged, an expiration date is printed on the bottle. This date is the last day that the chlorine tablets can still be used to disinfect and create potable drinking water. From the date given, which is 4 years from this year, the tablets can be used and are functional until May, 2017. As a Survivalist I always teach that when your supply of carried water is 1/2 gone, continue your journey to one of your plotted water supply's fill a bladder or 2 and start the Purification process so when your supply runs out the purified bladder should be ready or almost ready. This can also be a great training device for both children and adults and it makes Exploring fun.
