Answer:	This large backpack does just that: a spacious compartment for both a laptop & a tablet & notebooks & books. The backpack folds completely open in the compartment most towards the straps, allowing the backpack to now be basically opened like a book at its binding. A pocket is available on each of the 2 facing halves that are now flat - into these shielded compartments a larger laptop (mine is a 16" MacBook Pro - it has plenty of room) & tablet could easily be housed. In addition, notebooks & or books could be added to a total thickness of at least 3-4 inches, I should think. Mind you, this is all in just the one zippered opening/compartment. In additional compartments there is a whole lot more well designed space, including smaller 'organized' spaces for electronics, etc. this is truly among the best I've seen.

Answer:	The dimension of the front pocket is 9.4" x 8.7", it may not large enough to fit your ipad which is 10" x 6". Answer:	Works well enough. Problem is it's deep and very narrow. I'm not a little guy and although it accommodates my size 12 well enough. it is so narrow that I can only do one foot at a time. Might be great if you are a smaller person but for these reasons, I wouldn't buy it again.
