Question: | Can you use alcohol as only fuel as is or do you need to fit an alcohol burner inside |
Answer: | Yes, the stove uses butane and propane fuel dispenses from a variety size canisters. Butane performs better at high altitude. Canisters must have the correct fitting which is common to backpacking stoves but different than the larger canisters used by car camping stoves and lanterns. |
Question: | Can you use iit in smoky mountain because of the fire restricting |
Answer: | I would say yes this stove can handle both large and small pots and mugs. I use the Toaks 550 and 750 ml titanium mugs on mine as well as a large diameter msr pot. I have many of these small canister stoves and this is one of the best ones. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the inside diameter and height of this pot |
Answer: | If you are talking about campfire restriction, then this should be OK because it is considered to be a stove, not a campfire. If stoves are not allowed there, then this is not allowed. |
Question: | Can i put this directly into the fire |
Answer: | Hi, It is 4 5/8" in diameter and 4 7/8" high. That's with the stove with the alcohol burner inside in it's stuff sack nested inside of the pot. The pot has it's own stuff sack as well, so it doesn't rattle too much when you are hiking. I also keep a dozen or so paraffin fire starters inside of the stove too. Nice compact and very efficient little cook stove. |
Question: | will a magnet stick to the bottom of this pot. Will it work on induction burner |
Answer: | There is no good way to do that. You might try starting with paper towels to get the worst of it off, but you'll have to migrate to soap, a sponge and steel wool. The soot will get into everything it touches pretty much ruining it. After one outing, I no longer use it. I didn't like hiking around looking like a toner cartridge exploded in front of me. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this set have a non-stick coating |
Answer: | Maybe a small alcohol stove or an Esbit pocket stove,,,remember, these pots are for cooking in & eating out of. I live on a 33 ft. sailboat where you have to be frugal with what you put in the storage areas, so anything compact matters! |
Question: | What’s included in the “large” set |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Won't the nylon lids melt if you cook with them on? So they're only for straining |
Answer: | According to my postal scale it's 1 lb 9.3 oz. Than includes the larger pot cover; all pots; the "clip" type handle and a small bag that holds the handle. Note: There is plenty of room to store stuff inside this set as well (matches, dry wood, etc). |
Question: | Pinnacle vs Bugaboo differences |
Answer: | This set is higher quality, as the machining and finishing is much better then the alpine set. We are using the solo set as our cook pots on a 3 month RV trip. They are performing outstanding. |
