Answer:	The key is preventing flapping/movement, any fabric that flaps in the wind long enough will come apart, the more flapping you can prevent, the longer it will last. I would use the provided straps as well as wrap some string tightly all around it, make sure that fabric is nice and tight.

Answer:	it might. I put a roll cover over the back of my f150 and could not use the bike rack along with the cover so I sold the bike rack. It's not practical if you want a bed cover for the back of your truck.

Answer:	It depends how you position the pad on the tailgate but it covers my tailgate on a 2012 Tacoma with the Velcro bands that hold the bikes positioned mostly in the tailgate. It does a great job covering the tailgate!
