But should not sound like more then 1 piece moving inside The way it works is there is a wafer that completes the circuit when heated to protect from overload, so when cool it will rattle slightly if shook and when hot no rattle. I would not shake too hard as the wafer is rather thin and can be broken. it needs to remain in 1 piece.

Answer: Yes it can be used. I was able to cut 1/4 inch without too much effort. It does cut thinner stock easier. Not a good choice for Ferris metal.

Answer: depending on the material you are cutting like wood would cut better and faster with like a courser plade say 6-8 teeth per inch if you use 16-18 teeth per inch it would take 4 times as long on a 2x4" wood piece, where as steel would require 12 -14 or 16-18 or 24 teeth per in. depending on steel hardness and thickness. use their recommended guide.
