Answer: | No, you should be able to reload from the disc, but if your pc crashes it may mean that it isn't capable of running the level of Office that you're trying to load. Typically the Microsoft site can test your machine's compatability. But you may have to upgrade; on the upside, there are some terrific machines for $1000 or less. |

However, this is the only cable that will work with the software and the fastest method of transfer between 2 machines. Also, please keep in mind that it is recommended that the new machine's hard drive be bigger or equal in size as that of the old machine. Newer laptops are equipped with dual hard drives with a smaller SSD for the operating system and a bigger 1TB secondary drive. All programs would default to be migrated from C: to C: of the old to the new machine's hard drive and the rest can be redirected to the secondary drive. Common issues arise if the total size of the programs to be migrated exceeds that of the available space on the new machine's small SSD. Please keep in mind that Digital Rights Management exists for programs and they all default to the C:. Answer: | This won't work on Chromebook because they use ChromeOS not Windows. As far as a notepad is concerned it should work as long as it's running Windows and has a USB port. If the notepad has a micro-usb port, you can buy an adapter on Amazon that will go from regular USB to mirco-usb for a few bucks. |
