You may be required to do the phone automated Activation if the hardware of the PC is seen as drastically different from the original...this is normal. |

| Answer: | I accidentally reformatted an external hard drive and was unable to recover my files with this program, even though I had not saved anything under the new format. Perhaps I was given wrong information that reformatting simply switched file paths. I have never really used it to recover a file I had accidentally deleted though. I don't think deleting and reformatting are the same thing but then, I'm not an all-out computer/tech geek (no offense to those who are...). |
