Answer:	I agree with smoky 100% I have been with Dragon dictate since the beginning and when I finally was able to switch back to A Mac computer and they came out with a version for the Mac I was in Heaven I have been running the PC version on a partitioned hard drive but my equipment was finally too old and would not support the newer versions of windows and I wasn’t going to spend any more money so I completely abandon all PC ties and relied on The Mac version getting better and I kept up with all the updates until they finally stopped working with the Mac version.. I am dictating this on an iPhone 7 without glasses so it is what it is. I am contemplating maybe getting a PC laptop just to run The windows version because it is so much superior to the Mac version. I think the last PC version I used was 11 and it’s right out of the box accurate accuracy blew me away. I could not believe that my kids and their friends didn’t know how to put together words in their text messages until I got my own phone and tried to dictate with it and realize that the auto correct was in fact inserting the wrong words and going back to try to correct any errors wasn’t worth the time and that they could figure it out in contacts. Well being old I always wanted to go back to correct the words that were inserted incorrectly. But whatever if I can go back to a partitioned hard drive and get a reasonably priced copy of windows I guess I’ll do that. For many years I was chasing the feather blowing down the street always just out of reach which was the Hope that the Mac version of dictation software would finally Live up to my expectations but then they abandoned it. I was looking around for maybe something new that works on the iPhone but a few that I looked at still didn’t seem up to what I expected. So anyway it’s Sunday morning and I was just laying in bed recovering from surgery and I figured I’d leave a comment which I’ve never done before using this phone and it didn’t say to be doing too bad but I expected after all these years should be perfect and I’ll bet by now the PC version is just like I said the last I tried was 11.

Answer:	Siri dictation is as good if not better. And free. There is no more need for Dragon on Macs. If Siri stops working a quick restart (double Fn key) should fix it.

Answer:	This software is HORRIBLE. It "works" on Mavericks but has so many glitches it is a huge waste of money. Read Consumer Reports and other independent reviews. Stay away!!

Answer:	Unfortunately, the only viable option on a (powerful enough Mac) is to run Windows via VMWare Fusion (I personally would not recommend Parallels) and run the Windows verison of Dragon uner Windows. The speech recognition engine is the same. However, the Windows version is far more mature, capable and stable. Once you use the Windows version, you will not believe the Mac version is from the same company. Sad but true.
Question:	Really is this new version for Mac a bad product
Answer:	This product is very buggy. Often just won't work well enough to even use. The commands stop working. The mistakes take more time to correct than it would just take to type the words out. I tried to leave a review but the Amazon has blocked further reviews. Not sure why they would do that other than to reduce the negative ones. I really want a dictation solution that works. There just doesn't seem to be one.

Answer:	I run Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 in a WinXp virtual machine and it preforms much better than Dragon Dictate 2.5 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. I can't speak for the newer versions. I may try it out when I upgrade.

Answer:	Nuance lists 4 GB as the minimum recommended for Dragon Dictate v.4. That's no guarantee, however. I've not been able to get Dragon Dictate v.4 to work satisfactorily with 10.9.4 Mavericks on a late model MacBook Pro Retina with 16GB of RAM. One thing that I did insist on when upgrading through Nuance on was to get in writing from them that I had a 30-day unconditional return privilege. Normally vendors won't give refunds on software. If you can get a trial copy then at least you'll know what you'll get in terms of performance and accuracy with 2GB without having to buy a product.My experience has been that this app is erratic and buggy and, unbelievably they've not updated it to take care of the major problems. A few users claim to get satisfactory results with the Mac version. Not in my case.An option would be to contact OtherWorldComputing (MacSales) to ask what the cost would be to upgrade to 4 or 8 GB and how much of a performance boost could be expected. They provide easy to follow DIY videos and instructions for specific MacBook Pro models on how to insert the memory. Depending on the model, only a screwdriver and/or some knowledge about preventing static electricity from damaging sensitive components. The videos can be viewed at their site to give you an idea whether it's something you'd want to tackle.

Answer:	I haven't bought the wireless version but I'm certain its the same software, the only difference is the bluetooth headset. I don't know how much value the headset adds because I've always used my own microphones.

Answer:	I have only used it to transcribe sermons from a digital recorder. It worked really well when the recorder was close by my voice, but it didn't work at ALL when the recorder was a few feet away. This was strange because anyone listening to the recording could hear my voice clearly. I guess the software needs to have the voice very close to the recorder to be able to transcribe it. But again, when the recorder was right on the shelf in front of me it worked very well.

Answer:	In my experience this would produce a mess. Dragon is intended to be used by *one* person. You train it to recognize what you mean by what you say. Dragon 13 is said to be excellent (I use an earlier model that's very good), but can't really be used to catch several voices. And don't forget some people will be interrupting each other, talking over one another, and so on! Dragon has no way to sort that out.
