Answer:	If you are only using this for a windows PC i would recommend reformatting to ntsf. If you want the drive readable by a PC and mac try ExFat fomat. Answer:	I use this on a Mac with Time Machine backup and it works great. Very fast data transfer with USB, runs very quietly. The silver color also matches the apple imac.

Answer:	I can't find the transfer speed listed anywhere, even in LaCie spec sheet - https://www.lacie.com/www-content/datasheets/pdfs/lacie-mobile-drive-DS1997-2-1812US-en_US.pdf Based on previous experience with LaCie portable HDD units, I would guess 130-140MB/s range. This is a 2.5" HDD and whether connecting to a USB-C, USB 3.0, or Thunderbolt 3 port, speeds will be the SAME. This is not an actual Thunderbolt 3 port on the drive, it is USB-C which is "compatible" with Thunderbolt 3. And also, for a basic drive like this, the hard drive itself is the limiting speed factor. Connecting to Thunderbolt will not increase performance, basic physics. The drive can only deliver so much data per second, period. If speed is a big concern, then you need to look at an SSD portabl drive with USB-C or Thunderbolt 3, then you will see massive speed improvements. SSD will cost a lot more of course.
