User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work with an 80's tamiya dune buggy |
Answer: | You could fit two, maybe three, but they are meant for one card; for playing. |
Question: | Is this compatible with the Tamiya Grasshopper rc car |
Answer: | If you mean playing cards as in poker cards, no, the sleeves would not fit in the box. Not only would the sleeves make the cards to wide for the box, it also makes them thicker. I am not even sure these would fit them very well, they may be too short and wide. |
Question: | Will this work with tamyia f103gt |
Answer: | Yes this is made from a US Morgan coin. It is actually a 1921 Morgan coin to be specific. It is 90% silver. |
Question: | Are there cables to connect the receiver to speed controller and from servo to receiver. Antenna from receiver |
Answer: | My experience, beautiful ring and craftsmanship. I ordered a 13.5 size and it was exact. The ring fit right but seemed tight and the edge was square not rounded. When I shook hands it caused slight pain because of edge. I am guessing depending on size requested, the ring will wider or narrowed with same coin, a wider ring may seem a tight fit. My ring is very nice! |

From the Manufacturer
Based on 1-seater buggies seen tearing-up dirt tracks across the U.S. in the 80's, the Grasshopper first made its appearance in R/C stores in 1984. Boasting easy assembly and easy control, the lightweight Grasshopper proved an instant hit as the perfect entry level R/C kit. Also compatible with a whole range of option parts such as 540 motor and ball bearings, the Grasshopper was an entry level car that could keep up with the owners driving experience. Packed with all the fantastic features of the original kit, this fun 2WD buggy is a blast on both off-road and on-road tracks. Whether it was your first or will be your first, the Grasshopper guarantees to please. Simple But Tough 2WD Chassis The perfect combination of simple assembly and tough exterior is what made the Grasshopper so special. Durable plastic body is fastened to bathtub resin monocoque chassis by screws, creating a solid frame that can absorb any type of rough handling. Off-road tracks can be tackled with ease thanks to coil spring dampers and independent swing axle front and rigid axle rear suspension. Diff loaded sealed gearbox keeps out the dirt and stones for smooth driving and cornering. Paddle style rear tires and grooved front tires combine with 3-piece assembly type wheels for excellent grip performance on dirt tracks. Half-body driver figure adds that finishing touch to a fun off-road R/C car.
- Updated version includes 380 motor and 101BK ESC
- All-new stickers are redesigned
- Original tires and driver figure for an authentic look
- Sealed rear gearbox protects gear differential during off-road running
- This is a kit and requires a Transmitter, Receiver, Servo, Battery and Charger all sold separately

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with the LED mentioned on manufacturer's web site |
Answer: | Yes, mine rusted right away. I just bought a stainless steel one for more money. Hopefully it will stay nice. |
Question: | is this an unassembled kit or RTR? Do i need other parts |
Answer: | I have had absolutely no issue with rust. If someone else had a rust issue, perhaps they used an abrasive product or some other product that removed or damaged the chrome coating. |
Question: | Does it come with the controller |
Answer: | Delta Specs give these H 0.55 x L 5 x W 2.9. Screw: 10-24 x 1.75 in. I measured the diameter (please keep in mind - while installed in my tub) it looks to be 2-7/8" just slightly under 3 inches across. However, since this one is doomed (my old bone was flat) the screw it came with was just a hair too short to fit over my existing waste plug. Needed something 2+inches for a snug fit. Bought a longer screw and fit/set in snug over the tub waste plug. Sorry I do not have the original packaging to provide proper specs. Hope that helps you. |
Question: | Rwd? or 4wd |
Answer: | use the old screw and enlarge the hole in the screen to accept it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the car all wheel drive |
Answer: | Also when you buy paint, buy polycarbonate based spray paint. Tamiya makes their own labeled ps. DO NOT GET TS, it will chip off. |
Question: | Hard body or soft |
Answer: | No, you will need a controller and receiver. You will also need a servo. This is a kit which usually means you provide your own electronics. Makes for a better RC verses a RTR when you build it from the ground up and put the electronics you want in it. You will then know EVERYTHING about your RC. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Does the body come painted |
Answer: | I would think it would...i ditched the electronics that came with it and went with a castle sct sidewinder combo....just be sure and glue your tires |
Question: | Is the car wit the controller ready to drift |
Answer: | Its a standard 540 can motor...its not that fast... |

This is a re-release of a Tamiya Radio Control classic! In March 1988, Tamiya released an electric R/C 4WD racing buggy called the "Avante" and it has since become a special machine in Tamiya"s R/C history. The machine featured a unique shaft-driven 4WD system which was taken from Tamiya"s first 4WD R/C buggy, the Hotshot. It also featured a highly sophisticated design including a FRP double-deck chassis layout, longitudinal motor & battery positions, and a formula-type body with chassis fairing. It was equipped with innovative components such as a compact gearbox with 3 small planetary gears, a center diff to increase stability, a fully adjustable suspension, and cam-lock wheel caps. In 2011 the Avante made its return to the Tamiya library of R/C car offerings. It has a few updates, such as universal drive-shafts and machined aluminum uprights, to give the 2011 version increased durability and performance over the original. The Avante was such a distinctive R/C machine, many of its mechanisms have become standard features on modern R/C cars. -Length: 420mm, Width: 240mm, Height: 140mm -Wheelbase: 260mm -Tread F/R: 200mm -Tire Width/Diameter: 38/88mm -Chassis: 2mm Thick Carbon Double Deck -Longitudinally-Placed Motor Shaft-Driven Full-Time 4WD -Diff Gear F/R: Planetary, Center: Ball Diff -3-Piece Steering Tie-Rod -4-Wheel Double Wishbone Suspension -Front & Rear Oil Dampers -Gear Ratio=8.33:1 -Type 540 Motor (25T) -Requires an Electronic Speed Controller (sold separately) Requires: 2-channel radio, servo, ESC, 7.2 volt battery & compatible battery charger, and Tamiya PS polycarbonate paint

- TAMIYA 54611 RC Motor 10.5T Brushless TBLM-02S
User questions & answers
Question: | Does this fit tbe 2016 tamiya blackfoot? The truck came with a tble-02s brushless esc |
Answer: | This is not easy to answer. There are many factors that determine speed of any RC car; battery type and health, speed controller, gearing, tire size, etc. For the Frog you will destroy the stock gearbox in about 1/2 a battery pack. The 10.5T brushless motor is equivalent to a 19.5T brushed. You will need an MIP ball differential to make the gearbox survive. In order to use the Brushless 10.5T motor you will need a speed controller that works with it. I recommend the Tamiya TBLE-03S. Good luck and check out AmPro engineering for upgrade parts for your Frog. Atrains |
Question: | will this fit my tamiya tt-01e chassis |
Answer: | It’s as quiet as any other brushless motor. What is noisy is the Tamiya gear train which screams louder than the motor ever will. |
Question: | How fast will this make my Tamiya frog |
Answer: | No it doesn't, i would recommend the dumbo rc controller it is very cheap for what it is. You will also need a servo, a battery, and paint. |
Question: | Is the motor quiet |
Answer: | No |
