Answer:	I don't see how a dwarf or any hammie can escape but saying it's adequate for a dwarf hamster (I've had 6 dwarfs 3 robos and 8 Syrians) I don't think it's a great cage or habitat for robos. If my dwarf hamsters fell from the platforms id have been concerned bc as it is when my Syrian hammie doesn't use the stairs in this cage she used to take quite a tumble. I am still saying this cage is amazing!!! Just not for small hams.

Answer:	This cage is a little on the small side for a single rat, and you wouldn't really be able to use anything that it comes with. The wheel and ball especially are too small. Also, rats shouldn't be housed alone - they really need cagemates to avoid getting depressed and antisocial. I would say no to this cage for a rat.

Answer:	The bottom does come off easily, just two small clasps which makes removing the bottom quick. However the shelf (green) can be difficult to get out. Our hamster managed to kick a lot of bedding out of the cage and was also relieving himself outside the cage at times. We actually switched to a 40 gallon aquarium that was no longer water tight and have liked that setup much better. No more mess outside the cage.

Answer:	I think it depends on how big the rat is. The hide house would work for a mouse, but definitely not a rat. My hamster is a 'plus sized' girl and she moves around quite a bit, much better for her than our old cage, but we had to cut the opening of the hide house to make it wider for her to fit in there. She seems to enjoy the extra space so maybe your rat will like it too.

Question:	how big is 21 inches? I'm looking into getting a bigger cage for my Chinese hamster
Answer:	The space between bars are pretty small, 7mm or 1/4 inch. My Russian dwarf never gets through. I don't have a Robo hamster but I would assume it won't get through because the gap is rather small.
Question:	Is this cage compatible with other tubing pieces line Kaaty to add on more tunnels
Answer:	I have a syrian hamster and he fits well in the cage and tubes. If you have a syrian you are gonna have to get a bigger wheel though.
