Answer:	Yes, it can be used in a small coop, that’s how I used it. I also had a temperature gauge to ensure the temperature was accurate, consistent and appropriate for the chicks during their growth process. I liked the ceramic heat lamp because it didn’t produce light at night time. I noticed the chicks slept through the night thoroughly, which I felt was really important. Our chicks are now at nine weeks, outside and doing really well. I may use the heat lamp again this winter in their outside coop if we get some severe cold. Hope this helps.

Answer:	From a distance of 12 inches you will have about an 11 inch radius area hovering at about 90°. The farther away the less heat, and the closer the more heat, etc. I have two over a 75 gallon tank and they do great. Make sure you know what temperatures your creature should be at and always remember they don’t have to be perfect. Answer:	It depends on 2 things. Being free of drafts. And it depends on which wattage ceramic disc you use. There are two different sizes, 100 watts, and 150 watts. I have one of each in my "New Hatch" brooder The Chicks are in there for about 3 weeks until I move them to a different larger Brooder. I use 2 different wattage's in the overhead Ceramic bulb holders and keep a thermometer under them so I can watch the temp. If it is really chilly in my insulated Coop, I switch on the 150 watt as well as the 100 watt. Or switch to just the 150 watt. It depends a lot on the ambient temperature of the area which you need to heat. It also depends on the distance the Discs are from what you are heating. Please don't burn your animals. A Thermometer is your best guide depending on all the previous mentioned conditions.

Answer:	Not at all! Make sure you have a dome that can handle a 75 watt bulb! Also purchase a temp gun to monitor temperature. If the basking area is too hot you can buy a stand for the dome to sit it higher above the tank

Answer:	Be careful with any source of heat in a chicken coop. We had a major chicken coop fire. Your hens can knock down a lamp. I had the black 150 watt bulb (properly installed in a reflector with a porcelain socket.) The hens knocked it down and it ignited the straw. Hens survived, lost top half of coop with plastic corrugated roofing. Rebuilt the coop with a metal corrugated. We still use the black heat lamps, but they are secured much better nowadays.

Answer:	It should work. Ok. It depends on how cold it is and how many cats are inside. The 75watt ones get roughly about as hot as a 200watt light bulb.

Question:	Is this bulb supposed to make a rattling sound
Answer:	No. I would remove it without burning yourself or something else. I would also try to determine if the rattling sound is coming from the bulb or the outlet or the lamp's socket. I have checked bulbs, sockets and outlets by trading out bulbs, plugging in to another outlet or trying the bulb with a different lamp. If it is the bulb, contact Amazon.

Answer:	I don't see why not. I haven't used a dimmer for these yet, but I use a dimmer for my regular red heat lamps. I will use a dimmer with these when I have new chicks!

Answer:	I've never tried that but I use a base board thermostat so it cycles off and on to maintain the desired heat.

Answer:	I've noticed no difference between the two. The amount of heat put out is more in the wattage and not the color of the ceramic. I've used 60W, 75W & 100W for my baby chicks and ducks, depending on the size of the tub and age of the bird.

Answer:	I haven't measured the exact temperature, but know that it gets hot enough to melt a thick vinyl hose completely in half inside my beer fermenting freezer. I would guess it would be hot enough to give one a good burn if you touched it while it was on.

Answer:	Yes, you can adjust the heat with a rheostat or a thermostat either one; it won't allow for more than one set point though. You can't set the high setting for 89 degrees and the low for 75 for example unless you're using a thermostat such as a Spyder Robotics or something similar. A rheostat would only allow one set point. It doesn't emit any visible light, just heat.

Question:	Will this work for my outdoor sulcata tortoise? he has a rancho/hut usually use a red heat bulb
Answer:	I think it will. It emits infrared heat but from elements rather than a bulb. They come in several different sizes so, depending on how cold it gets in your area, you can use a high wattage or low wattage. I live in Colorado and use it in my chicken coop. I use the large one and it cranks out about the same amount of heat that the bulb does. The only glitch is you don't know if it's working or not but I have had mine for a couple years with no problems. Of course, I only use it in the winter but I used to go through several bulbs each winter.

Answer:	Depends on what you are using it for.I have 2, one on each side of a 20 long tank and one side of my tank also has UTH pad to create a temperature gradient. As for heat output I would say it's right around 80 degrees at the distance it should be from the reptile.
Question:	I bought 60w. There is barely any heat. It's comparable to heat from a warm piece of toast and maybe emits as far as 7". Is that normal
Answer:	I have both 60w and the higher wattage (100w?) and use the 60w for my eastern snake breeds. It doesn't seem to project much heat if you hold it over your hand, but in my 10gal glass terrariums, it provides enough heat per my thermo gun. Gets them into the 70s & low 80s, as needed. So maybe test it in action and see.

Question:	Do you need a stand for it
Answer:	I use a stand. You do not have to if you have a screen on top
Question:	Have a leopard gecko in a 10 gallon tank would 50 watts be to much
Answer:	It shouldn't be. I used mine with a 10 gallon tank before I upgraded to a 20 gallon. Just make sure to keep an eye on the floor temp with an infrared heat gun.

Answer:	At 50 watts, they would pull a little less than half an amp (.45 amps at 110 volts).
