Answer:	Best I can say is: when I put it on my head fully open, I turn the tightening knob 12 clicks to shrink it to my size. Just measured my head and it was about 23" or 58 cm. it tightens beyond that still another 15 clicks. My sons can tighten it down to their size as well (they're mid teens).

Answer:	I have a rather large head so I knew the M wouldn’t be the one for me. The large fits very well and the helmet has an adjustment in the back so you can make it slightly larger or smaller.
