Since the temperatures are so warm at 65 degrees, if you try it, I would be sure to check the horse periodically to ensure he or she isn't overheating. It really depends on how active the horse is in turnout, how thick a coat the horse has, the humidity, etc. If It's too warm, you could try a close knit fly sheet to keep the mud off. We have several customers in WA state that use the Rambo Protector for this purpose and say it works really well! As far as toughness, 600d is not an extremely tough outer layer so if your horse is tough on clothes, this might not be the best item. Again, this might be a good reason to go with a tough fly sheet vs a turnout sheet since the tougher turnout sheets will also be warmer - the Kensington Protective Fly Sheet or the Weatherbeeta Dura Mesh Fly Sheet could be good choices as well.
