How to choose right size heater?

• Rule of thumb is between 2.5 and 5 watts per gallon of water volume. This can obviously vary depending on how cold the room is that your aquarium is in, and how large the tank is.
• For example, if you have a 5 gallon tank, you need to heat the water up to 10 degrees above room temperature. The suggested heater size is 50 watts. However, if your home is on the colder side at 65°F and you need to raise the water temperature by 15 degrees, then consider upsizing to the next available heater at 75 watts.

Answer:	I would try and refrain using saltwater setups for freshwater, although the filtration will not cause any harm to the water or your fish. The saltwater light provides high intensity (trying to recreate the sun) and may lead to algae and other pests such as diatoms, which make it a very hard hassle to keep at bay. Best bet if this is the setup you want to find a way to replace the light with some regular leds and save you’re self the trouble of constantly trying to fight algae and bacteria growth.

Answer:	The Fluval Evo V is designed for saltwater having a 11000K light and 3 stage filter, the spec V is for freshwater with a 7000k light. So it depends on what you want to put in the tank.

Answer:	This tank does, but it's not the kind that uses bubbles. It's a simple plastic piece that comes in the kit that you attach to the water return. It causes the surface of the water to slope into the return thus skimming the surface. Fluval also made a protein skimmer that you can purchase separately that was built with this tank model in mind.

Answer:	Yes, I think so. I keep it down on the low flow setting. If it's on high it tends to make a powerful burst in the water that makes the fish shoot downwards when they swim in under it. The only time I ever hear sound is when the tank water gets low and I hear the trickling of the water from the filter down to the tank. I actually really like these filters, the one in my smaller vista tank has held up for almost 3 years.

Answer:	It must, but I'm not 100% certain. The red led light is always on.
Question:	How loud/quiet is the filter? I work in an office with cubicles and don't want a tank that has a noisy filtration system
Answer:	Where do you live? I live in FL where the average temp of my fish room is 75. I have M200 (200W rated for a 65 gallon tank) on my 75 gallon tanks. If you live in Maine, the average temp is probably 60-65 of your fish room. you will need the M300 ( 300W rated for 80 gallons) or maybe 2 of them to heat the same 75 gallon tank. with that said, I think you will be find with the M100 or M50 will be fine for your 32 gallon tank. just make sure they will fit. when you set it up, put the heater in the tank, let it sit for a day or at least a few hours before you turn it on.. see what temp the tank is, turn the heater on the lowest setting and slowly turn it up to the match the tank temp. let it sit there for a hour or so, then set it to what ever temp you want. Don't trust the dial that states what the temp is, it may be off by 1 or 2 degrees. Be sure to monitor the temp for a few days to make any adjustments. Heaters will not change the temp of the tank instantly, it may take a few hours.
Question:	Where did you put the heater and what kind of heater should I get? Thanks
Answer:	The instructions say: "Wait 30 minutes before connecting to the electrical outlet. This allows the heater to adjust to the aquarium water temperature. Note that it may take up to 12 hours for the eater to attain the water temperature you have selected." That being said, my experience is that it is quite a bit faster than that. Of course, that depends on what temperature the water started at! (i.e., how cold is your room). Please note that thre 50 watt model is rated for 15 gallon MAX. That means if you want wiggle room, you might consider the 100 watt version. Again, however, my experience is that the 50 watt was adequate for my 15gallon. But my house is not cold.
Question:	Do you have to replace the filter block, or the bio rings
Answer:	Yes it can, "Cord and all" (but not the plug) according to the Fluval representitive I spoke to at Fluval customer service. I've had mine completely submerged ever since and havnt had any problems. Just remember not to keep it on if you have to empty tank water behond the bottom line.
