Answer:	The skimmer has a fizzing noise (but mind you have been running it only for 5-6 weeks, some people say it goes quieter afterwards). Not an expert on skimmers as this is my first so dont know really how it compares to other skimmers. There is a slight gurgling sound (from mixing water and air) but the fizzing is what i would call noise. Tank is in my living room so not a problem for me really. Hope this helps

Answer:	As Tom Campbell said, get a 1/4 inch Barb Valve from Home Depot used for drip irrigation and zip tie it to an inch of the yellow hose you have to cut off. You can then regulate the airflow just like every other protein skimmer ever made. Horrible inexcusable design flaw. Valve costs less than 2 bucks. Also look into the output bubble filter thing they sell as an option. The first time I turned this thing on was a catastrophe.
Question:	How do u connect the collection drain pipe intoe xternal drain
Answer:	The lid for the right side of the skimmer has a air hose and silencer for the Venturi and on the lid it has a corner missing. That corner would be turned where the overflow pipe can slide in to the chamber. And it’s not a cup drain, it’s purely an overflow so if the cup isn’t changed the skimmate won’t run in the floor, it will overflow back in to the skimmer.

Answer:	What do you mean by canopy top? If you mean one with hinges that goes opens toward the back of the tank, the skimmer is at 90 degrees so it would be close. Question:	What depth of water is needed
Answer:	Unfortunately there isn't. But there is a reason. Every situation is different. I looked at the images on the page for which panel goes where. But spacing and height i watched a few YouTube videos of what others who cut there own sections did. The return section is important. It needs to have enough water to account for evaporation. But in my case I made the overflow section smaller than the other two as I wanted as big a fuge and return section as possible.

This HOG1x scrubber (tm) has over 24 square inches (150 square cm) of algal growth surface, which is designed to absorb the nutrients from this much feeding per day: 1 Frozen cube, or 10 Pinches of flake, or 10 Square inches (62 square cm) of nori, or 2.8 grams of pellets The number of gallons or liters of water in your tank or sump does not matter. If you feed more than the above amounts, you can get multiple HOG1x units; multiple units are preferred over one larger unit because you can clean one unit per week, and because you'll always have one unit filtering while the other one starts growing again after a cleaning. Multiple units are also good for backup. The magnets attach the outside cover to the inside cover, through the aquarium wall, and can be used on glass or acrylic 1/4 inch (6.25 mm) to 1/2 inch (12.5 mm). Not more. If your aquarium wall is 3/4" (19mm) or bigger, then put the HOG1x on your sump instead; it will work the same. No electrical parts go inside the aquarium; only air. Like we state in the first bullet point on the Amazon product page it's really best you measure the filter box area on your tank and if you have a space at least 3.5" Wide x 3.5" Deep then our skimmer should fit as long as your tank doesn't have a hinged canopy since the skimmer will sit above the tank frame and the canopy wouldn't be able to close.
