Answer:	If you tank is relatively new you are probably going through initial biological cycle. Cut back on your feedings for a couple of days and pick up Tetra's new tank additives to help cycle your tank quicker.

Answer:	Just buy one of those 7 and 1/2 in simple multi color blue LED they sell here it looks like a clear cigar tube and there is a strip of lights in them and you even get a remote control with it for multiple colors so that a limited eliminates the need to put something up on the hood with ceiling that which that's a good idea by the way that guy had a good idea but what I'm talkin about I think they're twelve bucks I think it's made by simple and I bought several of them here it looks like a little clear cigar tube with suction cups and it's submersible and it comes with the RGB remote

Answer:	Hi. There is no lid on the top of the aquarium and the filter sits on the right hand side. It's a nice filter does a great job. We clean it once a week and replace the charcoal bag once a month. The yearly cost for the filters is about 11.99. It has a nice waterfall effect to it. My daughter who changes her mind so many times a day is still in love with her glo fish tank. I hope this helps.

Pull out the impeller and bushings (included in models 50 and 75 only) and clean out any build-up or debris on the impeller and in the impeller chamber that may jam the impeller. Remember to replace your filter cartridge(s) once a month and rinse them before use.

What to do when the LED Indicator Light is blinking?

This light serves as a reminder to check the cleanliness of your filter cartridge. How it works is when water cannot pass through the cartridge as a result of it being dirty it will be forced around it. This will cause the water level in the main filter body to rise hitting the LED sensor causing the LED to flash. Once you replace your cartridge the LED should stop blinking and your job is done.

1. If the cartridge is new, the fibers may be a little tight and not allowing all the water to pass through. You can loosen the cartridge fibers by either placing the cartridge between your hands and rub your hands together or you can use your fingers to gently pull at the fibers to loosen a bit.

2. Keep in mind that the carbon in the cartridge is good for about 4-6 weeks, then it must be replaced.

3. If it’s not time to replace the cartridge, it may be covered with debris (food, waste, algae, etc.) and you can rinse it in between the times you replace it.

Answer:	it would. Because the fish has to sleep. Unless you have a bigger tank, it will be sucked in when they fell asleep even if she is strong to swim away while awake. I would cover the water intake with filter mesh or unwanted nylon silk stockings

Answer:	The Tetra Bio-Bag Large (formerly known as Regular) are the exact same as the filter bag supplied with the Tetra Whisper In-Tank filter 20i. I got both from Amazon: filter $11.89; 12 cartridges $12.28. These filters last a long time, can be cleaned and reused. For my purpose, this filter has been great.

Answer:	Thanks for your question. This filter is designed for 20 gallon tanks and would be too small for your 60 gallon. We also make larger sizes of this filter to accomodate bigger tanks. The best way to decide which filter will work for your tank is to measure the width and depth of your aquarium and compare it to the assembled width and depth of the undergravel filter.
Question:	Can i use this underground filter with no gravel? lol
Answer:	I have 4 tanks going in my home they all have under gravel filters. each tank has gravel. I never heard of anyone not using gravel. The filters will float to the top, because the gravel holds them in place.
Question:	So just to make it clear, should colored fish gravel be put on top of the filter or not? And if not, what would you use
Answer:	I used colored gravel just fine, just make sure to use water treatment stuff as well to prevent it from being cloudy.

Question:	My hood opening is 7 inches wide. Will this filter fit in that space? My tank is a 10 gallon however I want a better filter
Answer:	The light and reflector sit on top of an open part of the tank. On the front side of the tank the top of the wall juts inward several inches. On the back side of the tank there is an acrylic platform that is about 4" wide (which is meant to hold the back end of your light/relecter, then there is about another open 4-6 inches where you can insert your filter/pump, cords and tubing, thermometer, decorations etc or use it as the opening to feed you fish - other wise you'll have to remove the entire hood each time you need to feed your fist or mess with the tank. I think there is so much acrylic on the top of the tank to give stability to the tank. IF you were to remove the crummy light/reflector (as many of us have) you'll leave a very open space where something could craw or jump out. Instead, I added an LED light set that hooks on the outer edges of the length of my tank - so for your 40 gallon you would want LED lights 36" or longer. They have metal brackets on each end to allow it to sit on top of your tank. It won't be in the water but it is still an electrical hazard plus if you have filters or any bubblers running the they will spit water at the light. I've had mine this way for about a month with no problems. Mine do leave enough space where I can feed my fish without having to take the lights off (so it's enough space for an lucky fish to jump out - but probably not tempting enough for them to try. If you want to put anything in the aquarium you'll have to take off the lights temporarily and decorate, clean etc.
Question:	Is there a way to reduce the suction power? Too strong for small fish. Sucked them right up
Answer:	The hood has a light fixture, but no bulb. I got a 24” T8 17 watt bulb for planted tanks at Petco and it worked despite the fact that there was a little slip of paper in the box that stated that the hood would only take a particular brand of bulb. I couldn’t find the recommended bulb brand so I went with a $15 fluorescent bulb meant for planted aquariums while I wait for my Finnex 24/7 to come in.
Question:	Do I need a water pump if I have this filter
Answer:	What is unique about this aquarium is that usually you have to put on a backsplash yourself (usually black or colbalt or some crazy design) this aquarium has one whole acrylic panel that is a solid color (or left clear). If you are setting the aquarium in the middle of the room, get the clear, if it's going up against a wall pick one of the two colors = it gives the fish some security having those dark colors behind them. I personally chose the black and it's lovely. I'm sure the blue is great too but my tank decorations matched the black background better. The kind of background you put on yourself is a pain to do - there are always pockets of air or it starts slipping down - at least the adhesive made for them doesn't permanently stick so you can always remove it and try again. But to have one panel exactly the color you need is one of the many reasons this tank costs more than a glass tank.
Question:	Do I need an air pump if I have this filter
Answer:	length x width x height divided by 231=46.75324 and so on. By the time you put any substrate, rocks, etc. you will have even less. No a true 50 gallon in a sense.
Question:	So I am confused does it have a top on it because I dont want anyone to jump out
Answer:	If you have condensation it could run down the plug and into the outlet causing damage. You should ensure enough slack in the line to let gravity drip any tank condensation off before it gets to your outlet. Basically, don't let water go into your outlet or it's your problem, no additional parts needed.

Answer:	Not loud, very quiet

I don’t know your set up, but turtles are messy and require 2-3 times the filtration power of fish. I went to a 30 gallon high tank, filled it 90% and ordered an aquaclear 70 filter; they’re among the very best. It filters 300 gallons an hour, over kill, but you can adjust it to half that without burning out the motor. Remove all packaging and attach strainer (and extension tubes, if necessary) so that strainer will be no closer than 2" to aquarium gravel once the system is hanging on aquarium frame.

Step 2

Hang system on aquarium frame. Be sure aquarium water is at or above the minimum water level indicated on system's motor assembly.

Step 3

Once system is properly in place, plug filtration system into outlet being sure to average a drip loop with the power cord.

Answer:	I have 2 20G aquariums. 1 20G tall (24" x 12") and 1 20G long (30" x 12"). The tall aquarium I bought as a kit and it came with a Marineland hood. The light in the hood works great. It lights up the aquarium really well and I have lots of live plants that are thriving in that aquarium. So, when it came time to set up my long aquarium, I decided to go with another Marineland hood and purchased this one. I was quite disappointed to find that they use the same light bar for both the 24" and 30" hoods. This does not work well at all for the long aquarium. The sides and corners are not well lit enough. I do have some live plants in this aquarium, but I have to keep them toward the center of the aquarium. I wouldn't recommend this hood if you need/want a lot of light in your aquarium.

Question:	if this pump doesnt come with tubing, what else do i need to buy? is this pump supposed to sit on the bottom of the tank
Answer:	I own this for a minnow/ bait tank. 40 gallon. The unit comes with 2 long stones and hose for each. Mine has been working very well for 7-8 weeks, supporting 8-15 dozen lake shiners which require lots of oxygen. I imagine sponge stones would work fine.
