Question:	I have a 26lb rat terrier mix who loves to chew on his leashes. Would this be too large for his size and could he chew through it
Answer:	I got this leash when our Shelti was about 6 or 7 months old. He is now a year and 34 lbs. It is easy on your hands which is why I bought it. I don’t leave him alone with it on him. I do think he could chew through it. After experience with 3 other dogs, I crate him at night or when we leave the house. With the crate near the front door strangers can’t tell if he is loose or not.

Answer:	Poor little dog, a German Shepherd that only weighs 82 pounds…are you feeding it enough? I’ve got a 112 pound Weimaraner and I’ve used both the 3/4” and the 1” without any issues whatsoever.

Answer:	For your dog I would use 3/4". I've used these leashes before. If your dog is obedient, doesn't lunge/pull hard, the 5/8" would be suitable. I used it with 90lb rotts. I wouldn't use the 1/2" except for smaller dogs. Say, 20lbs, or 40lbs if they aren't a puller.Remember, just because someone says it's worked for them doesn't mean it's worked for a long time. Over time the leather will age, become brittle. In 2-4 years it may break under conditions it didn't previously. Also, it's a matter of comfort. If your 80lb dog is high-energy, pulls hard, the 3/4" will feel better (distributing the force over a larger area of your hands). OTOH, if your dog isn't high-energy, I'd go 5/8" for the slightly less intrusive (less weight, more flexible) feeling for the dog.

Answer:	As I've not encountered this problem yet, I might suggest putting it in a sturdy paper bag with some dry long grain rice and then that into a bag or box with some dry baking soda. Answer:	I think it depends how your dog walks on the leash. I have 2 65 pound dogs that tug hard. But with a gentle leader collar, the dogs do great and the leash works. I think its a nice leash.

Answer:	I've not seen any flaking or fading yet. The clasp looks like brass, so I'm expecting it to patina, not rust. We store our leash indoors, so I'm not expecting the elements to be a big problem. While the craftsmanship is not the most refined, it seems durable.

Answer:	It really depends on the size of the dog. Smaller dogs the 1/2 in is fine. For larger dogs you should use the 3/4. The leather should be comfortable in eother size.

Answer:	It's only braided at each end...maybe 3 inches. I don't know if it makes it any stronger, but I do know that it's strong enough to keep my 150 lbs mastiff puppy (11 mos old) on the leash. And he occasionally gets excited & tries to pull me across the road & into another dog's yard. I'm very happy with it, if it can hold my mastiff, you should have no problem with you GSD.

Answer:	The two I received where not braided. I saw some that were, but I wasn’t looking for braided.

Answer:	3/8 in is two small for a 100 lb dog, but if you get the one for a large dog it should be fine

Answer:	Most likely. But I would call them. They are very easy to talk to.
Question:	I am used to a 4 foot leash, but this one is only 1/2" wide and my dog is a puller. I am concerned the 6' would be too long but I need the width
Answer:	The 6' is sometimes a little long but I just hold it a little higher up. The 6' is only 3/4" wide, but the leather is very strong. I'm sure the 1/2" would be strong enough especially if the length is only 4'.
Question:	does this have a rough underside or is it smooth on both sides
Answer:	The leash is smooth on both sides except for a couple of inches below the handle where the braiding is. Very nicely made, color is as pictured, would buy it again

Answer:	Works great for my beagle. She can sometimes pull pretty strong and I never had a worry of this leash breaking. For a beagle you might want to get the 6 foot leash since they are short...sometimes this leash seems a tad too short.
