Answer:	We put the ladder on the second rung. We have a 85 lbs lab and it was easier for her to get on that way. Also having it lower created a platform for her to sit on if she wanted a break. It really is a good ladder, we haven't had any complaints. We did the same for our Bayliner Capri and our pontoon boat.
