Answer:	Yes but it may cause issues with the dog even coming outside. My dogs got so affected by the noise it they wouldn't even go outside. So good or bad for your situation?!

Answer:	I just set mine up however literature says battery should last 30 to 60 days depending on use.

Answer:	I personally don't know about puppies, but I bet it would get their attention. When they are doing something wrong, briefly hit the button until you get their attention, whenever they start back to chewing, do it again until they realize that the sound comes from doing something wrong. It is cheap enough to try without a huge investment. Try not to use it continuously, just enough to get their attention.
