User questions & answers

Question: What are its dimensions
Answer: The package I'm looking at says caffeinated. Either the photo is wrong or the question/responses belong with a different coffee.
Question: Are these good for wildlife viewing? How far away can you see
Answer: It will work just fine but this is, as it says in the description, whole bean coffee. "Whole Bean" means it is not ground to any size, it's full-sized beans. You will need to carefully read the instructions for your Breville Barista Express to learn what size you need to grind the whole beans for the best results in your machine. If you don't have a grinder, be sure to buy a "burr grinder". "Blade grinders" will not give you a consistent grind size.
Question: How many oz. it weighs
Answer: Don't know, but they do it well. Good beans.
Question: Any suggestions on a case for these binoculars
Answer: Hello sorry no I don't have the canister

User questions & answers

Question: What is the difference between the monarch 5 7576 and the monarch 3 7540, what are the different features, and the difference in the optical quality
Answer: My brother is the expert that gave me all of my information. I don't understand all the technical stuff, but he said that there is a huge difference in the quality of the "glass" between the 3 and the 5. The clarity is well worth the difference in price. I have used my husbands hunting bins for bird watching (one pair was a Nikon brand) and believe me, my monarch 5 7576 is so much clearer than his, I am afraid to let him borrow them for fear I won't get them back. Haha.
Question: Are these binocs... the Monarch 5 10x42 good for long distance viewing for instance at the beach, looking out on the ocean at ships or for whales
Answer: The power is adequate enough to enhance the view but not so powerful that you can't hold steady on the image. So no, you won't get long distance detail but it will bring the image closer. I find high powered binocs almost impossible to hold steady. These are the perfect balance. I love them.
Question: What comes in the box? carry case? strap
Answer: carry case, strap, lens covers for both front and back and user manuals. Suggest you purchase the pencil style Nikon lens cleaning tool as well... Very handy and only $7.00. we live at the beach. The optics are indeed amazing for the price.
Question: Should I be really concerned about the adverse reviews on the lens caps
Answer: Yes & No. I use binoculars for my work and own several pairs of various manufacturer's bino's & spotting scopes. These binoculars are a great value. At this price point, in my experience, they have better than average optical quality and build quality for this price range. The lens caps are junk. Nikon claims the ocular (eye piece) lens cover is purposely designed for a loose fit....they fit so loosely they fail to protect the lens from dust & dirt. The PRIMARY job of a lens cap is to protect the lenses, not be convenient. If you are at all active while wearing them, the lens cover will come off, providing no protection, increasing the risk of damage. Also, the highest likelihood of damage to lenses comes from improper cleaning and you will be cleaning the ocular lenses often. Be careful, use the right soft cloth or a lens pen, and try not to scratch or remove the coatings. The Objective lens covers are a little better. They fit better and were redesigned to have both an inner and outer lip to grip the barrels better. They are attached to the barrels, but over time, the plastic tether will break. Nikon will send you replacements when this happens. I do find you must swivel these caps out of the way. If you don't, they have a tendency to pop up into your field of view. The sad thing is every time I use these, these little, easily solved problems are a constant annoyance. I tried installing a thin strip of duct tape on the ocular lens cover, which helped them fit better, but over time, the tape slips when it's warm out and you get a sticky mess on your eyepieces. Thank God for Goo Gone. I wish Nikon would pay attention to their Customers and fix the problem.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this binocular comes with neck strap and carrying case
Answer: The physical dimensions? 4.1 x 1.8 x 4.5"
Question: Are they waterproof
Answer: No. At 10x the field of view too small, image shake and very poor low light performance. At 25mm I would go with 8x or 6x if you want a practical instrument.
Question: Harness included
Answer: They product description is misleading. 2.4 oz? rotfl Weighed on a shipping scale 10.9 oz
Question: Where are they manufactured
Answer: A soft sided case was included in the package when I made my purchase last fall.

Crossfire HD Roof Prism Binoculars

You know what they say about people who assume you can't get HD optics, rugged performance and high end form-factor in a value-price binocular? They clearly haven't checked out the Crossfire HD. Add in the included GlassPak binocular harness for quick optic deployment in the field and superior protection and comfort - The Crossfire HD truly is a rare find.

Adjust Eyecups & IPD

The eyecups on the Crossfire HD binocular twist up and down so any viewer can see the full field and enjoy comfortable viewing—with or without eyeglasses. When not using eyeglasses or sunglasses, keep the eyecups fully extended. For the best viewing when wearing glasses, twist eyecups down.

The interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance between the center of your left and right pupils. Match the IPD of your eyes and your binocular by rotating the barrels in or out until you see a single image free of shading

Focus Binoculars

Use the center focus and diopter to adjust for vision differences in each eye. Choose an object about 20 yards away and perform this two-step process:

  1. Close your right eye or cover the right objective lens with your hand. Look at the object with your left eye and adjust the center focus dial until the image is in focus.
  2. Close your left eye or cover the left objective lens with your hand and rotate the ring until the object is in focus.

Neck Strap

Attach the padded neck strap in these three simple steps.

  1. Push a few inches of the strap through the strap attachment on the binocular.
  2. Hold the buckle and thread the end of the strap through the buckle.
  3. Adjust the overall length, then pull tight until strap secured within the buckle.

Lens Care

In order to enjoy the best views through your binocular, take time to regularly clean the exterior lenses:

  1. Remove any dust or grit from lenses before wiping. Use a can of pressurized air, soft camel hair brush, or an acrylic optical brush.
  2. Clear lenses of smudges, fingerprints, or eyelash oil. Fog the lenses with your own breath, then use a nonabrasive lens cloth to clean the lenses.

GlassPak Binocular Harness

The GlassPak Binocular Harness stores and protects your binoculars while keeping them close at hand for quick deployment. Tethers attach to your binocular for added security against accidental drops while the fully adjustable straps create a comfortable fit. Follow these steps to attach the binocular tether straps.

  1. Thread the wide end of the binocular tether straps through the harness strap buckles.
  2. Size to fit by adjusting the one-size-fits-all harness strap.
  3. Thread the binocular tether straps through the strap attachments on binocular.
  4. Thread the binocular tether straps back through the tether strap buckles to secure.

User questions & answers

Question: are these good for a thousand yards target shooting
Answer: No. I don't believe any big buck spotting scope could do it. I've shot 1000 yard NRA sanctioned matches. Spotters in the pits below the targets put a large marker on the target and that you can see with a very good quality spotting scope,if the mirage is not too bad. At a 1000 yards a car would be a speck with these binoculars.
Question: We're going to use these for only backyard birding, but I noticed that these new binocs have a "close focus" of 25 feet. Is that normal
Answer: "Normal" depends on your typical use. If you typically will be watching birds that are not closer than 25 feet they will be fine. Birds closer than 25 feet will be out of focus. Most of the better "bird watching" binoculars have a close focus of 12 feet or less.
Question: does this set of binoculars come with a strap and case
Answer: Yes, they come with a case, strap, lens caps, and a lens cleaning cloth. They are a fine pair if binoculars. I purchased 10 of them for my passengers to use on a Mississippi Riverboat to watch the nature unfold on the banks and couldn't be happier with the product and quality. We are in our second season with them and I haven't had a single problem one!
Question: Does this set of Binoculars come with Lens cups for protection
Answer: If cups and caps are the same thing, then yes, this set comes with lens covers. HOWEVER, they are constantly falling off, so they are really of no use for protection.

Product features

Diamondback HD Roof Prism Binoculars

The Diamondback HD smashes the scale of price vs performance, delivering a rock-solid optic that optically punches high above its class. The included GlassPak binocular harness keeps your glass close at hand, ready to deploy at a moment's notice, all while providing protection and significantly more comfort than traditional neck straps.

Adjust Eyecups & IPD

The eyecups on the Diamondback HD binocular twist up and down so any viewer can see the full field and enjoy comfortable viewing—with or without eyeglasses. When not using eyeglasses or sunglasses, keep the eyecups fully extended. For the best viewing when wearing glasses, twist eyecups down.

The interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance between the center of your left and right pupils. Match the IPD of your eyes and your binocular by rotating the barrels in or out until you see a single image free of shading.

Focus Your Binocular

Question: Do these binoculars come with a case and strap
Answer: yes
Question: Do these float
Answer: All inexpensive binoculars will have some play, or backlash, in the focus wheel. If this is something that bothers you, you will need to purchase a much more expensive binocular. The "upper-level" stuff will have very little backlash, and the high-end products will usually have no play.
Question: WHAT are actual dimensions
Answer: They do not provide enough magnification to be shaky, but they are not exactly light. I use them frequently from a hand-held or rested position with my elbows braced on a ledge. After a period of time my arms do get fatigued. The view is crisp, clear, and contrasty.
Question: Do these open out and in to make them wider or narrow in width
Answer: From what I can tell, only the camo models are on sale. The black finish is more.
