Question:	How do these hold up to chewers
Answer:	So far, the chewer that I was concerned about only retrieves it from the pool and then he keeps it for a bit and drops it until it is thrown back in the pool. I have seen where it looked as if he was beginning to chew on it and it has held up, but I tend to take it from him and throw it back in the pool so he understands it is not a chew toy.

Answer:	Bought an all seagrass area rug with no backing to prevent eating of odd and dangerous things from Pica disease. Makes great scratching pads as well and lasts long time. Foam and threads get lodged and can cause death. Nail down the carpeting or switch it out. My cat's Pica is a nightmare, so we have to be one step ahead of her. Adding more canned food helps esp., before bed. It holds her longer until breakfast. 4 meals per day. Good luck with whatever you try.

Question:	Is there an on/of switch or must the unit be unplugged to stop it
Answer:	I recommend weekly washing by hand (no dishwasher) in a lightly soapy Dawn bath with very thorough rinse in plain very warm water and towel dry. It's important to disassemble the pump to clean possible hair or slime from the propeller and magnet. I bought my 1st Drinkwell Plat in 2011 and it is still running at my daughter's house with only a pump being replaced recently in 5.5 years. We need to refill the reservoir weekly so that is a good time for us to clean it thoroughly and we have gotten really good at washing all the parts and cleaning the pump in less than 15 minutes. Rinse the filter in plain warm water (no soap) will extend the life as well.
Question:	The plastic reservoir has a musty smell to it. I use bottled water and have washed it with hot soapy water to no avail. Ideas, suggestions
Answer:	I would not advise that given the electrical plug is not rated for outdoor use... I live in FL and there are plenty of mosquitoes inside and I've never seen them lay eggs in water (though I recommend cleaning it at least once a month and exchanging filter).
Question:	How often do you need to disassemble and thoroughly clean this fountain
Answer:	Thank you for your review. Any foamy bubbles on the water's surface can be caused by one of two things. If you use a very sudsy soap when cleaning the fountain, you need to be sure to thoroughly rinse the fountain when cleaning as any soap residue may lead to this. Alternatively, this is your pet's saliva. As your pets take a drink, their saliva can fall into the fountain and float on the water's surface. As the water aerates from the waterfall, this can cause the foaminess you're experiencing. To clean this, we recommend soaking your pet fountain in a 50/50 water and white vinegar solution.

Answer:	I bought it for my pup who was probably around 50 pounds when I bought it and is around 85 pounds now. My older dogs that are closer to 100 pounds also play with it. It is good for a pretty decent range size of dogs and it is holding up well. Love the Chuckit toys!

Answer:	My flat-coated retriever has no problem seeing either the blue and green one or the red and blue one, but I throw them in a large pond, not a moving river. Note that dogs done see color, but contrasting colors no matter what they are. An all white, or primarily white one works well too. These are very tough and bobbing in a river might just work. Worth a try.
Question:	Is the body of the toy tough enough to stand up to a chewer, like a Kongs is
Answer:	Well...the body is covered in a mesh fabric and under that is a soft rubbery substance. I would never compare this to a traditional Kong. I don't let my dog have this unattended; we throw it in the pool and he retrieves it, but once that activity is done, I put it away and give him his Chuckit! ball, which is indestructible. I'm pretty sure that given the time to chew on this for a while, my dog would get th mesh fabric loose and start destroying the toy. The reason I like this toy is that my little pup is only 10 lbs and has trouble getting his mouth along a ball in the pool. This long toy is just right for him. I don't advice playing tug of war with this toy. My dog quickly pulled the blue end cap and rope off. I was able to repair it with E-600 glue, but now we don't use this for tugging.

Question:	The black valve falls out easily, I want to use this toy as a flotable device for dock diving. Do I need the valve for it to float

White or Natural

White bumpers are the most visible, and are used for training young dogs to use their eyes over land or water. They’re also excellent for throwing against dark backgrounds.

Orange

Orange bumpers teach dogs to use their nose after reaching the area of a fall. These bumpers work well on blind retrieves, because they are easy for the handler to see but are virtually invisible to the dog.

50/50 Black and White

50/50 Black and White bumpers are good for throwing against all backgrounds. The sharp contrast in color make them easy to follow when thrown.

Puppy bumpers are made for young hunting dogs who are just learning the ropes

Question:	Are the dimension as advertised? 3.15 x 0.59 x 0.59 in - Seems very small
Answer:	No that is not correct. I don't have it in front of me but the blue toy part is about a foot long. The 3.15 is probably correct for the diameter.

Answer:	No sure but this toy is amazing. My dog destroys all toys but not this one. She will chase after this toy for hours. Worth every cent!
