Question:	Can they be washed in the cloths washer
Answer:	In my opinion the Wubba could be washed in a clothes washer. We have a Yellow Lab and this was the first toy he didn't destroy. We also throw and fetch with the Wubba in all types of weather including rain and snow. Thus even though we have never washed it I strongly believe that it would stand up to a washer. This is the best toy we've ever experienced the durability of this sort.

Answer:	No. The fabric is wrapped around a squishy softer squeaking ball. When the dogs chew through to the interior ball we throw the ball part away. One dog tears it up quickly and soft plastic is everywhere, plus she swallows it. My dogs don't particularly like to chew the large black and red Kongs. They will retrieve them and toss them around themselves but not favorite chew. The red and black smell like tire rubber so maybe that is why.

Either way, here's the information you're looking for: KONG makes these toys in several different varieties of durability. There is one for puppies and one for seniors. Then the red one is the "average" one and the most common. And the black one is what this product is, the Extreme KONG. It's for "power chewers", dogs who tend to tear up all plush toys and also destroy many rubber toys. The compound is simply more durable. I know this is too late to help the original poster, but here's the info in case it's helpful to someone else. :)
