This has become such a widespread practice that it actually threatens the cultivation/production of real vanilla orchids for the real Vanilla. I would not necessarily shun this product just because of the GMO yeasts, but I LOVE real vanilla (my favorite flavor) and really HATE the taste of Solgar's *vanilla flavored* Whey to Go! Otherwise, I'd find it a superior product – better than any other protein powder I've tried – whey, pea, etc. I've intended for a while to go to Solgar's website to request that they try a version using *real vanilla*, since I otherwise love their product (mostly use chocolate flavor because of this). I've noticed at least one other Amazon reviewer complained about the weird "vanilla" taste.
