Question: | What comb attachments works with this model |
Answer: | I bought the "Wahl Professional Animal Stainless Steel Attachment Guide Combs for Detachable Blade Clippers (#3390-100)" here on Amazon after doing some research. They work great! Super durable! |
Question: | I have a small and fragile long haired chihuahua. Do these clippers come with various speeds and a protective guard that would prevent injury |
Answer: | No they do not come with a guard but it does have two speeds, low and high |
Question: | I need a #7 blade, which one fits this clipper |
Answer: | A #7 will fit this clipper. Any detachable Oster A5 type, Andis, Wahl generic that fits on a hinge will fit this clipper. |
Question: | What blade comes with this |
Answer: | Comes with #10 Ultra Edge blade. This gives a 1/16 inch cut. Use the Wahl Professional Animal Stainless Steel Attachment Guide Comb's for detachable blades. Work great. Hair won't pack like with plastic combs. No need to buy whole set. Get size you want. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003PFXCOS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1 |

User questions & answers
Question: | Groomer attached the comb for me but I can't get them on & off. I know there is a spring but I can't get it to move, Can anyone please help |
Answer: | To put it on: Insert the comb from the top edge of the clipper/trimmer, and then pull it down to extend the spring to snap in and ON. To remove or take off the comb: Push the comb down and pull OUT from the bottom, and then pull UPWARD to completely remove it. |
Question: | I'm new to grooming (i.e. non-professional). My clipper came with a #10 blade - is it better/safer to buy these comb guards versus individual blades |
Answer: | Blades are more dangerous. It depends on your skill, because with or without guard combs you can still cut the dog. As a non-professional it will be less risk to learn with guard combs first. Blades alone need to be checked for the temperature and cooled frequently throughout the groom. A #10 blade is NOT a surgical blade, but it does leave the hair extremely short (1/16 in.), a length short enough to leave razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Its not reccomended to shave a pet down to this length all over in most circumstances. Depending on the coat, individual blade may leave a more polished look, but you can achieve a decent haircut on most breeds using a #10 blade and a variety of guard combs. |
Question: | Will the attachments fit my Andis 2 speed Detachable plus + Model AG |
Answer: | These do NOT FIT Andis Super AG2 2-Speed Detachable Blade Clipper, Professional Animal Grooming, AG-2 (22235). I bought them from the recommendation and am returning now! |
Question: | I got the Andis AGC 2-Speed clipper with a #10 blade, and this does NOT fit??? What am I doing wrong here |
Answer: | I also was ready to return these. I had read these answers but still could not see how to attach the combs. As I was preparing the return authorization I got them out again and only then did I realize that the metal piece will slide up and down, so after you hook it on the bottom part of the clipper, you then have to exert great force to move the comb up and over the blade. It is a very tight fit and does ensure that the comb will not come off during use. It would be very helpful if the package came with instructions, as it is not intuitive, even after I did what I thought was thorough research. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what blades come with clipper purchase |
Answer: | Honestly I would say it depends on the person and how your body reacts to things. Unfortunately there is no definite answer I can give to you. Your results might be different than mine but I would still encourage you to give these a try either way. I noticed results in a few days but like I mentioned previously everyone is different. |
Question: | I have standard poodles, who have gotten matted. Will these clippers work on that type of thick coat? Cheaper clippers are useless |
Answer: | Stearate |
Question: | Do the blades get hot fast,I have seen this mentioned on other less known sites |
Answer: | Hi Deborah, Our probiotics don't need to be refrigerated because it's "freeze-dried", freeze-drying helps protect probiotics viability. Also, we used a technique called "Microencapsulation", this is a process in which tiny particles or droplets are surrounded by a coating to give small capsules, of many useful properties. In general, it is used to incorporate food ingredients, enzymes, cells or other materials on a micrometric scale. Storing in a cool, dry place is a standard labeling practice to avoid excessive heat. Hope that helps! Kind regards, Melissa |
Question: | I have an AUSTRALIAN labradoodle with a wavy coat. I'm considering these clippers for home grooming. What else to get in addition to the clippers |
Answer: | Hi Mary - here are the ingredients: Cranberry, D-Mannose, Polydextrose, Proprietary Blend of the following: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus reuteri, Lactobacillus rhamnosus |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come with any blades? Which blades do I need to groom Yorkies |
Answer: | Mine came with the T84 blade. Andis has different size blades that you can interchange. Not sure about Yorkies I use mine on horses. |
Question: | Can I interchange this blade with #10 oster clipper blades that I already have |
Answer: | Yes you can they fit on just like the oyster clippers |
Question: | What is the best blade for an extremely thick and long undercoat? I have a rough collie and the blades that came with it don't work well at all |
Answer: | It should work fine on that type of collie, I would try a 10 blade. And make sure they are washed/dried and brushed out before you clip them. The 10 blade will make it short though. |
Question: | Could I use these to "shape" the body of a Bichon Frise ? Will they remove the top layer of the coat cleanly |
Answer: | The blades are fairly wide. I use mine to body clip my horse, but i've also shaved my friends cat(a Maine Coon with hair mats), so I'd say yes, they're fantastic clippers, i've never had a problem with them, just keep them clean and oiled. If you're wanting to do detail work, they're fairly wide, but they cut clean and even. they run quietly too, and don't get overheated too fast. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would the medium clippers work on lab |
Answer: | Yes, I would recommend them for a larger breed dog such as a Labrador Retriever, but not so much for smaller breeds. I purchased them for my 25 lb Cocker Spaniel/Lhasa Apso mix & they were big for him, in my opinion. As far as quality goes, however, I feel these are good clippers. |
Question: | Would the medium clippers work on lab |
Answer: | I have Belgian Tervurens and it works fine on them with room to spare for a thicker nail |
Question: | Would the medium size work for cane corso? it a large breed dog, thank in advance |
Answer: | No, unless nails are smaller size and not thick. I purchased the Large size nail trimmer to use at work, I'm a dog groomer. Large isn't excessively big and works for Labradors, Great danes etc. |
Question: | Would these clippers work well on a beagle sized dog |
Answer: | These are really good clippers, sharp with no splitting of the nails . They have a large cutting surface so I would be careful using on a medium size dog like a beagle. I use on all three of my collies which range in size from 82lbs. to 61lbs. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you buy different blades? i do not like the combs. i have a german shepherd/ husky/wire hair cairn terrier mix. the combs leave a comb look to her |
Answer: | You can buy different blades as long as they are Andis blades. Nothing else seems to fit it. |
Question: | would these work for a 70 lb border collie with a very fine, thick undercoat |
Answer: | I am not sure but I used this for my 30kg golden retriever (also thick undercoat but not so fine hair) n it works great. My mom enjoys shaving my golden's hair with it to different style; one day lion, another time bart simpson, sometimes skunk. I bought a few clipper head to vary the length depending on the weather. My golden seems to b comfortable too. He falls asleep during haircuts. |
Question: | How does this clipper (#21485) differ from the Andis clipper |
Answer: | From the Andis company, I was told that the 21485 was blue and the 65785 was purple. I am going to check to make sure that they both are detachable blades. That is one of the differences I have found with other Andis razors. But, I believe that they are identical. Oh, I forgot, they both have steel blades and not the Ceramic. To order one with a ceramic #10 blade included, it is Andis 21420. The identical clipper MGB2 model number is the same for all 3 of these razors. |
Question: | what blades does it come with and do you need a special oil for it |
Answer: | Blades are 3/8, 1/4, 5/8, 3/4, 1/2 comes with oil. Or can purchase human hair clipper oil. I love these for my long haired cats. Quite. |
Question: | why are people wanting the ceramic blades over the metal |
Answer: | I've never used ceramic blades yet, but it is my understanding ceramic blades stays sharper longer and does not get as hot as the steel blades. You still have to use the coolant spray on both types of blades. Hope this helps. |
Question: | what is the strokes per minute |
Answer: | 2700 strokes per minute. |
Question: | I have a shih tzu. What size additional blade do I need to order for a longer winter cut? The #10 blade is way too short |
Answer: | Kit contains plastic parts to adjust length. So I think you don't need another blade. |
Question: | how would it work on a standard poodle |
Answer: | I have a standard poodle, and it works wonderfully! This is the third or fourth pair of clippers I've tried, and it's the only one that worked at all. I don't use the guards on it though, as they tend to get stuck in the curls. If you were diligent and combed them all through thoroughly, then it might work, but I generally just buzz him down really short for the summer. Hope that helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you still have to oil ceramic blades |
Answer: | yes and clean them with a brush too. makes them wear a little better. I oil them before use and then again after cleaning. |
Question: | What size of blade should I use for my Siberian Cat with badly matted hair |
Answer: | I am a groomer and I would not use a skip tooth blade on a cat. Their skin is paper thin. Use a 7 blade to take off the mats. Be careful to keep the skin taught so the skin doesn't catch in the blade. You can use a 10 to finish once the mats are off but it's easy to cut the skin with a 10 blade on a cat so that's why I don't recommend starting that way. The 7 is safer. It will give you a slightly fuzzier finish; the 10 will give you the very smooth lion cut finish. |
Question: | Will this blade work on Andis AGC Super 2-Speed Professional Animal Clipper with Locking Blade |
Answer: | Will this blade work on my Andis RACD model easy clip?? |
Question: | What is the difference in the blades? Length of cut? How do you know which to order |
Answer: | The higher the number, the shorter the cut. A 7 leaves hair longer than a 10, but not as long as a 4. Most groomers use a 7 more than any other blade. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the return policy |
Answer: | sure |
Question: | Is this clipper good for thick curly coats, like bichon frise or poodles |
Answer: | Yes. This clipper will work but you need to make sure you are using the correct blade. Here are some blades to use. Remember the lower the blade number the longer the cut, the wider the gap between the teeth on the blade to go through the hair/fur. 64080# 7 skip tooth 1/8inch will leave the hair choppy looking but will help with the thick hair, will have to go over the hair again with the regular #7 blade which is 64121 finish cut 7 blade. 64079 5 skip tooth ¼ inch finishing blade 64122 5FC blade 1/4 64090 4skip tooth blade 3/8 inch finishing blade 64123 #4FC 64133 3 ¾ skip tooth blade leaves hair ½ inch finish blade 64135 3 ¾ FC blade You can just use the FC blades but just in case the dog is matted I would suggest to go through them with the skip took. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Blade drives |
Answer: | Unsure of you question, but if you if you notice that your blade is dragging through the coat while clipping, or the clipper isn’t cutting as clean as before and you see lines in the coat, you may need to replace the blade drive. First, always make sure you clean off all debris from your blade and use Andis Oil to lubricate it, then check to see if you still are seeing the same issues. If you do, then you will need to replace your blade drive. Blade drives are a common maintenance point on any pair of clippers and are typically replaced every four to six months or sooner based on the amount of clipping. Note that your blade drive will wear out faster if you clip a dog with a dirty or matted coat. It’s recommended that you always bathe, dry and brush out the dog first before you begin clipping to ensure the best groom and less wear on your clipper. |
Question: | Which guards fit these clippers best |
Answer: | any of the combs that attach over the detachable blade properly |
