Answer:	According to previous reviewers, it uses the Schick Injector Blades. They are available for sale on Amazon. They do look like the right blades from the picture. Just be careful when replacing them. Read the reviews. People mention how to do it.

Answer:	I have a 3 year old beagle and I brush her LIGHTLY with it. She doesn't really like it. My husband insists its because its too hard. For a dog that age with health complications, I wouldn't recommend it.

Question:	Is this a quiet machine? I have not shaved my kitty before and he is 8, I am afraid he will be too scared if it makes a loud noise when it is on
Answer:	My vet offers cat shaving for long haired cats whose mats need to be cut off. We rescued a half wild cat who won't let us brush or trim claws. The vet tech does a great job once a year on this cat. So yes, some cats do need to be groomed on their undersides. We've used Wahl clippers for many years on our various dogs and always get great results. Other brands aren't as easy to use in my opinion.
Question:	Do these work well on a thick curly coat? My cocker spaniel has been very difficult to groom at home due to clippers not going through his coat
Answer:	I have a Shih Tzu and her hair gets very long. I am also very familiar with the Cocker Spaniel coat as I have owned one as well. Yes it will work fine. Go slow in the direction of the hair, not against the direction. Keep the blades moderately oiled. Also make sure you detangle any possible knots and brush thoroughly before you cut. You will be fine.

Answer:	It's actually really easy. It has different guards on it so you don't get two close at first. As long as you can get your dog to sit still and you go slow you shouldn't have any problems.

Answer:	Yes, this works great on long haired cats. We use it to trim around our cat's rear end, and also his ruff. Excellent to keep the fur trimmed and to deal with mats.

Question:	I'm confused. I see this in course, detail, fine. Not sure which I need for my Golden Retriever. Which one do I need to use
Answer:	This tool is for dogs with a hard outer coat which should never be cut and a soft undercoat which does need to be stripped away to make room for new growth. I have a Cairn Terrier and it works beautifully for her coat. I seriously don't think it should be used on a Golden Retriever. I have a friend that has that breed and he just uses a brush that is made for the bigger and longer haired dogs. I'm sure Amazon has something more appropriate or any pet store can help you. He just brushes him outside so the hair can fly off.

Answer:	I have used the medium, and find stripping knives in the past, but have transitioned to mostly using a pumice stone and a fine metal stripping "rod" ...available from dog supply sight. I found it to easy to break off the hair while using the stripping knives

Answer:	Keep the knife perpendicular to the skin. If you tilt or angle the knife it will cut the hair.

Answer:	Nothing is easy on a double coat. We use this on a Wire Haired Terrier and it does a good job, but it’s not easy. Good luck.

Answer:	Since the Newfoundland is a long haired dog it would work good. Since my dogs are short haired, (Australian Cattle Dogs) it does not work real well. It does work for loosening the under coat which makes it easier to comb out.
