Maybe medium dogs, depending on size of bowls, you can look into a larger mat if necessary. *To preface, my dogs eat dry food* My suggestion is that you can use this under a raised bowl holder for food and water. I'm assuming adding water will prevent ants from crawling through it, but with spilt food in the water will then make soggy food leading to another mess to clean. These are good to keep my dogs from moving their bowls, but little messes of water still spills when they drink, with the food a few pieces do get out. Best bet, is to try and figure out a non toxic mix of ant killer, as I know it can be hard to get rid of ants. To see if you can kill them off for a few months then reapply every season or however often you see them. This may not be the best answer, but I dont think these will completely prevent ants from getting to your dog bowls.

Answer:	I ordered a 22" (2 3/8" squares) mousepad rollup board from Wholesale Chess for this set - I can't find one on Amazon and they're cheap ($10.99) there.You CAN play on the "standard" 20" (2 1/4") boards with a 1.875" diameter base king, but it's a little tight.I've been a US Chess Federation Tournament Director and Player and, for me, 2 1/4" is just a little too cluttered for me to see the diagonals comfortably with a set this big.The US Chess Federation recommends the king's base diameter be no more than 78% the square size, and 78% of 2.375" is 1.85" - close enough to 1.875 for me. Someone else mentioned a 2 1/2 board - that's probably optimal, though I'll be carrying this set to USCF over-the-board tournaments in a 23" long bag and a 22" (2 3/8" squares) rollup board is about as big as you'll find there.Mousepad and silicone rollup boards lie flat. Vinyl rollup boards tend to curl-up along the edges after a while, but they'll last for years and pieces slide on them better when you move them better than silicone or mousepad boards. The edges are slight, and when pressed, press down, collapsing, so I don't think they'd appeal for chewing. I love this cat food tray, I have it on hardwood flooring which is varnished, the floors are slippery with socks on, and the tray doesn’t slip. The bottom has pads and it’s heavy. There is a lip around the edge which is nice in case food spills. I use a ceramic bowl with a rubber bottom for food and a glass bowl for water and they do not slip on the tray . I’m very happy with this product, very good quality.

Answer:	I don't think it would prevent a bowl from being tipped over. The bowl just sits on top of the mat and in fact ....it might make it easier to tip depending on how it sits on one of the ridges. I wouldn't buy it for a bowl tipper!
