Answer:	Yes, wash by had, i melted the last one in the dishwasher. Kind of large to go on the road, lid at very top is somewhat secure, made to be stationary.

Answer:	The lid at the top of the feeder simply snaps on the the clear plastic that contains the food. It is best to fill the entire feeder up so there is enough weight for the food to dispense. There is no way to control the amount of food that is dispensed so if you have a cat that needs portion control this is not a good feeder choice for you.

Answer:	When clipped properly to the frame of the tank, the light should be pointing down into the water.

Answer:	There are no internal threads in the handle of the skimmer. It looks like it is part of a system where a tube would fit over the handle end and there are spring clips that would poke through holes in the tube to lock the tube in place. I didn't measure the diameter of the handle to know the inner diameter of the tube. I also don't see an obvious system of compatible parts when looking around Amazon. I only bought this to use for a hot tub, so didn't need an extension handle.

Answer:	I would say NO. I have had mine for over a year and it is in very good condition. The orange band has never fallen off nor become loose. Contact the company and they most likely will send you a new one.

Answer:	It is not clear one way or the other on the product or the packaging. While it says on the back of the box that the LED light is "waterproof", the clips included are specifically designed to keep the light bar and wire out of the water. Also, the directions for installation only address attaching it to the frame of the aquarium under the canopy, which is well out of the water, and emphasize the importance of creating a drip loop in the chord so that water can't accidentally travel outside the tank and into the electrical outlet. Based on that, I would imagine that the "waterproof" designation is just because water might splash on it, or if it is accidentally bumped into the tank temporarily, and not because it is actually designed to be submerged. The "GloFish Blue LED Aquarium Bubbler" or the "Marineland LED Bubble Wand" are both LED lights that ARE designed to be submerged, and you might be able to just use the lights without the bubble function by not connecting an air pump to them.

Answer:	No timer. When dogs are full, they stop eating and only eat when they are hungry. Thus, no issues with food aggression with their sibling dogs, and it makes for a great feeder when you are out of town for the weekend.
Question:	Does the feeder limit the quantity of dog food or do you rely on the dog to get full and stop eating
Answer:	The dog eats as much as they need. There is no limit to the amount they can have. Most dogs self-regulate, but we do have one who cannot be on a feeder.
Question:	I have 2 large great pyrenese dogs. How wide is the door opening? I am worried it wont be big enough for a big headed dog

Question:	How easy is it to tip over
Answer:	I have a big German Shepherd. Love this feeder. He has a dog door so we use this when we're on vaca for up to a week. He has learned he can push it to make a couple of kernerls fall out but he doesn't tip it over and he's an aggressive eater. He's a 125 lbs.
Question:	How much can the unit hold - if feeding 1/2 cup each day, how many days will the stored food last
Answer:	Thank you for your interest in this item. This unit holds 24 cups and can dispense up to 12 meals a day. If you use 1 cup per day on a 24 cup capacity that would be 24 days. If they use half that amount (1/2 cup) then it would double it to 48 days.
Question:	As far as the dispensing chute, would a very motivated cat be able to reach their paw up and get food to drop
Answer:	There's not a ton of room between the bottom of the dispensing part and where the bowl is, so it would probably be difficult for the cat to get a good position to reach up into the chute from underneath. In addition, the conveyer belt that moves the food up has fairly rigid plastic dividers, one of which is always right in front, so that would also block little paws if they managed to get up there somehow. I haven't had a problem, but my cat also might be too lazy to try. It doesn't seem to me to be as suceptible to break-ins as some of the other feeders I saw when I was looking to buy.
Question:	How well will this feeder work for two cats? One is a bit greedy
Answer:	We have had this feeder since Aug 2015 for our 2 small dogs! 1 a 12 lbs poodle and the other a 3 lbs yorkie! This feeder works great for them both had 2 different eating habits and it has tought them they don't have to scarf up there food. That the right amount is in the bowl for both and they have learned tpenjoy eating! they know they will be fed at the same time morning and night! They accually stand at their dish and have learned to share! They have learned what time it will come out and we don't have to rush home to feed our babies! We just always check 2 a week to make sure that the food container is full & everyday we check to see the batteries are working!
