Question:	Is there an on/of switch or must the unit be unplugged to stop it
Answer:	I recommend weekly washing by hand (no dishwasher) in a lightly soapy Dawn bath with very thorough rinse in plain very warm water and towel dry. It's important to disassemble the pump to clean possible hair or slime from the propeller and magnet. I bought my 1st Drinkwell Plat in 2011 and it is still running at my daughter's house with only a pump being replaced recently in 5.5 years. We need to refill the reservoir weekly so that is a good time for us to clean it thoroughly and we have gotten really good at washing all the parts and cleaning the pump in less than 15 minutes. Rinse the filter in plain warm water (no soap) will extend the life as well.
Question:	The plastic reservoir has a musty smell to it. I use bottled water and have washed it with hot soapy water to no avail. Ideas, suggestions
Answer:	I would not advise that given the electrical plug is not rated for outdoor use... I live in FL and there are plenty of mosquitoes inside and I've never seen them lay eggs in water (though I recommend cleaning it at least once a month and exchanging filter).

If you use a very sudsy soap when cleaning the fountain, you need to be sure to thoroughly rinse the fountain when cleaning as any soap residue may lead to this. Alternatively, this is your pet's saliva. As your pets take a drink, their saliva can fall into the fountain and float on the water's surface. As the water aerates from the waterfall, this can cause the foaminess you're experiencing. To clean this, we recommend soaking your pet fountain in a 50/50 water and white vinegar solution.

Answer:	The big water troughs we use for livestock are made of galvanized steel. Some of them we’ve had out for more than 50 years with no issues. We have this particular water system in our large 10x12ft dog house and we’ve been very satisfied with it
Question:	What is the width and length of the base of the 4 gallon bowl
Answer:	We had this issue, but it was because of a washer and the fact the bowl was not on an even surface. I believe if you turn it over, there is a couple of screws that will allow you to adjust flow. If this doesn't work, let me know and I will go look again.
Question:	Can I use my 5 gallon water jug with this? The type you get from water delivery service/office cooler jug
Answer:	My galvanized waterer rusted through at the area where the hose came into the pan. The connection itself never leaked. I am using a plastic auto waterer now. No more metal dog water pans for me. Good luck.

Answer:	This depends upon the size of the pot. This also depends upon the size of the water bottle. Another variable is the adjustment of the drip setting. I would not do this quickly. Setting this up may take a few weeks to get the correct settings.

Question:	how often does the food bowl refill
Answer:	As the cats eat, the food just comes down. Sometimes I have to shake it a little so the food comes down. Works ok but I had to stop using it because I have one cat that is on a diet so she can’t have access to food all the time. I also have an automatic feeder where you can set the times for food to come out and I like that better.
Question:	Where is the pet mat? Was not included in the delivery. How do we receive the mat
Answer:	Mine included a mat. Not sure why yours didn’t

Answer:	Easy enough. If you poor it out occasionally it doesn’t get algae. If it get some a brush or your hand should work. The only rough spot is under the metal in the middle.
