Question:	What is the optimal height for install above a 12" shut door? Designing coop before purchase. Thanks
Answer:	You only need it to open high enough for the poultry to get in and out. Your clearance above the door opening will determine how much of an opening you can have. if your current door is 12 inches but you cannot get it to open all the way due to the motor mounted above it you really only need 8 inches of height for chickens to get in and out of the coop. There are several article online stating a 8 inch X 8 inch opening is plenty large enough for chickens. That being said if you can get the full 12 inch door opening all the way with the motor mounted above it you will be able to house larger breeds of poultry, ducks, and possibly some smaller breeds of geese.
Question:	What is the weight limit for this unit
Answer:	The weight limit is 5 pounds. My coop door weighs 3.75 pounds and it opens it fine.
Question:	Will this work with a door tall enough for my geese
Answer:	yes. I used 0.060" aluminum for the door to keep it light. The system works well but last winter, my door froze in the closed position and a gear stripped when it tried to open. Replace the string with 2lb fishing line to be the weakest link.
Question:	Will this keep the door shut? Or could it be lifted and a coon enter
Answer:	That depends on your door. If you install a trim piece outside the door you will be able to prevent any unwanted fingers from getting under your door to lift it. This essentially would create a sort of pocket for your door to lower into so nothing can get wedged under it to lift the door.

Question:	How bulky is the collar for a 7lb cat
Answer:	The sensor measures 2" long by 1" wide by about 5/8" thick. Our cat is 12 lb and it doesn't seem to bother her though it looks a bit large to me. Be sure to buy extra batteries for the collar - we tried to solder our own (they are a regular type of battery that has the contacts modified) and it didn't work. The collar ran out of juice, so we had to pay overnight shipping to get new batteries, and to spend the night opening and closing the door for the cat.
Question:	Has anyone installed this door when owning two dogs of vastly different heights? (Corgi & Lab for example) What height did you install the door at
Answer:	I have two large doors installed, one is mounted so bottom of door is at floor level for a Beagle with IVDD that has a no jump order from her vet due to spinal damage. The other is mounted high for large German Shepherds. Added a deck platform outside with ramp since elevation was too high for either. Incidentally one of my 100lb dogs actually prefers the lower mount door, and just ducks down when she goes through it, and it works great for her. So it really depends on the dogs, how much they mind jumping versus ducking.
Question:	Does the door have a timer feature? i.e at 10pm only let the dog inside but not out
Answer:	Unfortunately, there is no type of built-in timer feature. You can definitely set it up so the dog can go in but not out, but you'd have to plug the door's adaptor into an external timer to get the functionality you want - i.e., if the dog was outside you'd have to have the door plugged into a timer that had the door turned completely off. Then you could have it power up at your set time and I think the door would remember that you had it set for entrance only. However, if the power failed & the door was running on its backup battery that would be an issue! You might give High Tech Pet a call (805-644-1797), they're very helpful. They're on Pacific time BTW.
Question:	If my dog takes too long coming through the door, will it chop her in half
Answer:	No Bill, it will not chop her in half. First of all, the door closes on gravity alone. Secondly, there is a built in safety that pulls the door up if it encounters any obstacle in its path, on the same principle of the safety used in garage doors. Answer:	No, you can't lock the patio door, I have the same issue. The doggie door sits right in the path of the patio door on the door track and thus prohibits the door from being locked, And yes, it does come with a cover to prevent your pets from coming in/going out
Question:	how many inches is the bottom of the door to the flap. I have two pugs that must be able to easily get out of as well as a pit bull
Answer:	Hi Donna - There is four and one half inches from the floor to the bottom of the flap. We were worried about that, too, since we have two Chihuahuas along with an Italian Greyhound mix and now our new rescue, Belgian Malinois (will be very big). There was NO problem at all! We put the door in and they all went through it! It's a great door. We are very happy!
Question:	Can it be easily and quickly removed
Answer:	Although the intent is to screw it in with 3 or 4 screws and use the lock provided, we have not done that. We use a bar in the sliding door track to "lock" the door if we want to leave the pet door in place over night. It is easy to remove it since the spring loaded top segment holds it securely in, but can be lifted out easily if we want to be gone for a few days.

Answer:	Hmm, that is a very interesting use for it. I would say it depends on the type of kennel and if you have a flat surface on both sides in order to place the adhesive on. It is worth a shot. You can always return it to Amazon if it does not work for you. :)
Question:	Could this be used the opposite way to prevent child to close the door
Answer:	I assume you’re wanting to put the hook on the back of the door and attach the other part to the wall so they can’t push it closed? It could work in that sense, but If they’re strong enough it probably wouldn’t work. I’ve had to replace mine because my daughter ‘locked’ her brother in the bathroom (unbeknownst to him) and when he went to open it snapped the hook part of the strap.

Answer:	Yes, the sizing is the same. The waist is a bit larger than Nickelodeon or Disney ones that you might find at target. We find the Carters ones are a much better fit and much better quality! As someone mentioned, these are closer to a 3 than 2.

Answer:	I don't think it is mentioned anywhere that these are training underwear. That said they are not extra absorbent as they are regular underwear.
