Answer:	I'm not familiar with the deluxe, but this one has some very light padding on the nose part, it isn't a totally bare strap. But I'm not really sure what you define as padding.

It is used in case your dog slips out of the head harness...your leash is now still attached to the collar/harness with the head harness hanging loosely in mid-air. Use a safety line that is long enough to not restrict your dos's head movement.

Once your dog responds to your verbal commands, it is acceptable to wean them onto a normal collar and leash. I would recommend a harness or a martingale style. Answer:	Happy New Year, Jordan. Per the manufacturer's comment, the Large Martingale Collar is 1 inch wide and is an adjustable 13 - 20 inches. Also, they have a great listing with a second image that shows the size chart in detail.

Answer:	To address the dog trainers response. I have a 65 lb rescue mix (looks most like a German Pinscher) that only a classic metal choke collar would work. She took on a gentle leader, her neck was strong enough that her neck would not pull towards me, If I stopped she just pulled and pulled, it was amazing. I guess real metal choke collars are considered inhumane by some ((?), but my dog is one tough dog and the choke collar worked,. I am looking into this type of no pull simply because getting the choke on and off is difficult. We only put it on when we walk her, so now she hears it and comes running , stays perfectly still when we put it on.

Question:	what size would I need for a dog with a 12-13" neck
Answer:	The sizing given for the LARGE 1" is NOT CORRECT. The large definitely does NOT have a range of 14 - 20 inches. It is a minimum of 16". My dog takes a 15" collar and the large is too large at it's smallest adjustment. I just ordered a medium and getting a refund for the large. They said to keep the large which was really nice of Amazon. I gave feedback to the supplier that they should give accurate ranges in their product dimensions.

The HALTI OptiFit stops dogs from pulling by steering the head so the body has to follow. Invented by Dr Roger Mugford, the HALTI OptiFit has been designed to provide dogs with an optimum fit whatever their face shape.

How does it work?

Its unique design works by gently directing the dog’s head, in much the same way as a headcollar works on a horse. The adjustable chin strap maintains an optimum comfort fit to the contours of a dogs face, so whatever breed of dog wearing the HALTI Optifit, it will not rise up into the dogs eyes or touch the dogs flews (lips).

Fitting Tips

Time should be taken when accustoming a dog to the HALTI OptiFit, so that he has a positive association with it. Initially place the noseband flat in your hand and feed the dog treats, so that he is happily putting his nose through it. When he becomes used to it you can secure the neck section.

To ensure that he cannot pull the nose band back over his nose, slide the camlock towards his chin and lock. However, it is important that the camlock is not so high that it restricts his ability to pant, eat or to open his mouth.

When first using the HALTI OptiFit, ensure you continually praise and reward your dog, and feed treats to help distract him and to ensure it is a rewarding experience. Never leave the HALTI OptiFit on an unsupervised dog or he may chew it.

Breed recommendations are a guideline. We recommend you measure your dog to ensure the right fit. For the neck measurement, place the measuring tape snug around the top of the dog's neck.

Answer:	yes and no...the collar doesn't hold the adjustments, so unless you adjust it daily, my 75 pound lad can scratch it off. I wouldn't recommend this collar. I got a different one and I don't have the same problem.
