Answer:	A bed or cat mat is not related to a cat being in heat. Please spay or neuter your cat. Too many cats die every day in shelters.

Answer:	I can only guess that because of the arthritis, maybe the cat can’t get comfortable and needs to keep changing position? Or maybe the mat makes him/her too warm all over and doesn’t just warm the areas affected by the arthritis. It’s hard to say. The cat I bought the mat for sadly passed away about a month ago. The three other “feral” cats we’re caring for were using the mat for a few weeks, but then moved to the regular pet bed covered with blankets I have for them in the same cat “fort”. Plenty of body heat with three of them, and the mat should help reflect back that body heat, but there’s just no accounting for our kitties’ behavior sometimes.
Question:	do you think this would keep an outside kitty warm in a cat shelter in winter? Snow, rainy weather
Answer:	Yes, that is what I used it for! However, it works best in an insulated homemade shelter, either a plastic bin that has been insulated or if you use a styrofoam cooler, and line either with straw. I used this pad as additional warmth for the extreme cold winter we had. Both cats in two of my shelters survived well with this added way to keep warm. It's a good quality self-heating pad and it is washable. I would certainly recommend buying it. There are how-to videos on YouTube on how to make your own outdoor cat shelters. Good luck!

Answer:	The only tag on the mats is one with the company name. There is no other information on their origin on the mat.

Answer:	I don't really know if it can be cleaned. I should also update my rating on this because now that I've had them for a while I can say that cats don't use them anymore than a normal pad with just a spongy type filling. I have two outside shelters and put this in one and put just a normal little pad I bought with a spongy filling and that is the one they use, not this one. My indoor cats don't use this one either. Not sure why, it is nice and soft but they like the other better.

Answer:	Mine makes a slight crinkle noise too. I am assuming they are supposed to. My cats have several crinkle noise toys that they love and it sounds like plastic bags, one of their favorites. I think it attracts the cats more too it as they love this sound.

Answer:	I care for a feral cat colony and have made shelters for them from old kitchen cabinets and large Sterlight-type containers. My cats seem to prefer straw over anything else. Straw is an excellent insulator and doesn't stay wet. Do not use hay, which would attract rodents. Strays might still be socialized enough to use a pad like this, but if they're feral, I think the crinkly noise it makes would scare them. Answer:	I bought two of these, in two different colors, from the same seller, JBD Brands . One in Dec. 2019 and the other in Jan. 2020. Neither of them have crunching noises.

Answer:	We are using ours for a small cat in his little insulated house on our covered deck & it has worked fine for over a week. I think the issue with outdoor use would involve the plugin possibly getting wet and causing problems. We are going to make sure our outdoor plugin is covered with plastic to prevent any moisture getting in from rain or snow. Hope this helps ~ I would feel fine using it in a carport.
