Answer:	It will work with any USB charger, but it will work better with a high-power charger like the Samsung charger. The higher the power output of the charger the faster your USB 3 device will charge--and the USB 3 cable will transmit more power than a USB 2 cable.

Answer:	Check the back of the charger...look for the voltage. it will read 5.0v or 5.3v. 5.3 is obviously higher. its not an incredible difference but it does charge slightly faster

Answer:	Did you download the update? It could be related to the base software on the drive being outdated.

Answer:	Do not use the Password Protection. If you just installed, you can disable the Password Protection feature on the Settings screen of the Samsung Portable SSD software as follows: Click the "Set" button on the Main screen, switch the "Lock" button from ON to OFF, enter a password, and save it. Otherwise you cannot expect unattended backup's.
Question:	How should this be formatted and setup to use as a boot drive for macintosh
Answer:	Even after reformatting as an OSX drive (it comes formatted for Windows), it cannot be used as an external boot drive. However, I used Drive Genius to format it as a "Bootwell" drive, and that seemed to enable it to be used as a boot drive. You will need to clone a current drive to the Samsung T5 if you want it to boot up with all the apps you used to have.

If the drive is nearly full, remaining free cells may be subjected to excessive writes.
