Question:	Are these processed in an FDA inspected plant
Answer:	Honestly don't know, it's been a couple of yrs since purchasing for my cat. However, Whole Life is a good brand, no preservatives, chemicals. I do remember some pieces are hard and I soften with a little warm water and cut them for a cat, whereas, dogs can eat larger things. A very good brand that's smaller size, less quantity but soft is Halo but it's expensive. I bought that more often.

Answer:	I checked both my packages and neither lists an expiration date. You could also contact the manufacturer if you are worried.
Question:	How is 16% fat (low fat)? are these really just chicken breast with no skin
Answer:	1lbs of Freeze dried food is typically equal to 4-5 lbs of wet raw meat, depending on how much moisture is in the meat. So if the chicken has say 4 grams of fat when it is freeze dried it could be 16-20 grams; fat doesn’t disappear when it is freeze dried.

Why Freeze Dried

We believe one of the keys to healthy eating is to buy the very best ingredients you can find and to do as little to them as possible. We chose freeze drying because its the best way to achieve this goal and provide pets with minimally processed food and treats without preservatives or additives. Instead of cooking, freeze drying uses sub-zero temperatures in a vacuum chamber to gently pull moisture out without the loss of nutrients cooking creates. Freeze drying locks in freshness and intensifies natural flavor. It also keeps food from shrinking or becoming tough as with other drying processes.

Slower is Better

It takes 18-20 hours to freeze dry foods, as compared to high heat quick cooking methods that can take just minutes. Its this long, slow, gentle process that allows us to make the healthiest treats possible.

How the process works

- Food & treats are first flash frozen

- They are placed on trays and put inside a vacuum chamber

- Low heat is applied to trays only which causes the ice crystals inside the food to turn into water vapor outside it

- Cold plates attract & collect this water vapor like metal to a magnet

- Once foods reach a low enough moisture content (generally between 1-4%), they are freeze dried & shelf stable

Our Story

When we adopted Remy from our local animal shelter it wasn’t long before we noticed he was struggling with some common physical sensitivities that we felt might be improved with diet. After some trial and error, we determined that certain ingredients found in many dog foods were, in fact, aggravating his skin and digestive tract. When we set out to find foods that did not contain those ingredients, we came up empty handed. In addition, we discovered that most of the well known store-bought dog foods are packed full of unnecessary artificial preservatives, fillers and additives. I decided to start cooking for Remy to find a recipe that didn’t aggravate his sensitivities. The menu was simple: whole foods and 100% farm fresh raw meat designed to minimize allergens and maximize his health. When I fed him these foods, not only did he lick the bowl clean every time, he experienced a remarkable change in his quality of life.

Question:	My chihuhua has had most of his teeth pulled. Would these treats be hard for him to chew/eat
Answer:	My cat would not eat them and yes they are very hard. The fish smell is unbearable. I would not advise them for your cat. I was disappointed in this product. The powder form is great and my cat enjoys it so I would advise that instead.
Question:	Is it recommended to add some water to these to make them softer? I only see break it apart and give it to them, my cats don't do hard treats

In our refrigerated kitchen, RAW human grade wild-caught sockeye salmon is cut into our dog treats. Still frozen, our salmon is placed into our freeze drying chamber.

Once in the chamber, temperatures are brought down even further, and ice is gently removed from our salmon through sublimation in a vacuum.
