Answer:	I've used this I don't know how many times and the handle doesn't look like moving at all. My border collie has a long rough coat and it goes through it well with no problems. My dog is a bit of a nuisance with brushing but that has nothing to do with this rake. I think it would probably do a good job on any and all dogs.

Answer:	I would not "apply a lot of pressure" to get more hair off. Instead, try brushing against the natural fall of the hair or under the coat to release any loose hair. Answer:	It's called a "bodkin" or ribbon puller. This is meant to look like an old Victorian sewing kit, and I think they must have been used to pull ribbons though lace or holes or something for decoration or drawstrings or something.
