Start with the longest because you can always go shorter but you can’t glue the hair back on if it’s too short. Remember this is just my experience and I’m not an expert.

The vet tech does a great job once a year on this cat. So yes, some cats do need to be groomed on their undersides. We've used Wahl clippers for many years on our various dogs and always get great results. Other brands aren't as easy to use in my opinion.

Go slow in the direction of the hair, not against the direction. Keep the blades moderately oiled. Also make sure you detangle any possible knots and brush thoroughly before you cut. You will be fine.

It takes three people at the vet's to clip my dog's nails - and it costs $23 each time they take off an eight of an inch....and then the nails are sharp. My dog was freaked out even with this one but with enough string cheese snacks we got through it. I had been able to use clippers on her by myself but it was scary since she has solid black nails and was struggling. I hope the grinding wheel lasts for a good long while. Question:	Can this pet clipper be used on cats
Answer:	The short answer for me is that I have a much easier time overall with the non-folding Feather. The long answer is: I have both Feather razors- the straight handled (non folding) and the folding. I find it is easier to keep the proper angle of the blade to the face (quite shallow) with the straight handled version. There is more of a grip with it and it feels more secure in my hand. With the folding razor, the tang tends to roll in my fingers and I have difficulty maintaining the proper orientation of the blade to my face. At least that's my experience. As to your question about your neck this may depend if you switch hands for each side of your face. Some people use their right hands for the right side of the face and the left hand for the left side. Others use their dominant hand on both sides. I have found that with the non-folding handle version you can reverse the direction the razor faces and use your right hand to shave much of the left side of your face. What I mean by that is to swap end for end with the razor in your right hand, keeping your hand oriented at the middle of the face while the roar extends to either side of the face. You hold it kind of back-handed with the thumb moving to the end of the handle when reversing and shaving the left side of your face. (A picture of the grip change would be easier than describing it). I do find that even doing that, I switch to my left hand to do the bottom of my neck on the left side. I get a better angle to conform to the contours of my neck that way. In any event for myself I find there's a long learning curve to using a non-safety razor well. I hope this helps.
Question:	How wide is the blade
Answer:	Keep in mind that this razor was designed for use by professional barbers and hair stylist. Using disposable blades is much more sanitary than a straight razor, and most jurisdictions require barbers to use disposable blades for wet shaving. Also, as mentioned above, using disposable blades is a lot more convenient than stropping the razor and having it periodically sharpened by a professional.
Question:	Does it come with oil or do I have to buy it separate
Answer:	It did not come with any blades. I bought the Feather Professional Blades (the ones with 20 in a pack). However, I have also cut a double edge blade in half lengthwise and used one of the halves to shave. So this could be an option if money gets tight.
Question:	Does this work well for trimming ear hair
Answer:	I own it and I have to consider it first! I recommend this device. Top notch and absolutely painless!

Yes it looks like you get two clippers, I even thought that but when I got it I realized they were just showing the blades on them. They should change picture to only show one clipper and show extra blade over to the side. I love my clippers, instead of two days grooming two dogs it took 3 hours on one and 2 on the other in the same day. It is lightweight and quieter than my old clippers.

Answer:	I have not, but my sister has locs and I’ve recommended it to her for her dandruff. Since you are only using it at the base of your scalp to lift the flakes, it will work just fine unless you have freshly tightened locs.

Answer:	Can be used on humans and pets.
Question:	Is this powerful enough to buzz off a skin-hugging hair mat without hurting my kitty
Answer:	I would not recommend using this to comb the dandruff out, but rather to loosen patches from the scalp. Using the comb to comb all the way through your hair will significantly increase your chances of breaking your hair off. I section my hair off and use a boar bristle paddle brush to brush out the loose flakes after I’ve used this comb to lift up the flakes. Hope this helps!
