Answer:	I have purchased this cast iron teapot that is made in JAPAN almost two years ago. It is not lined. I do not allow any liquid to stay in the pot for more than two days. When not in use I do dry it...and put it on the gas stove to insure it is fully dried. I brew my loose tea leaves in the infuser and then pour the hot water over, close the lid and let it brew. Answer:	I would say yes. I've got a Lab/mix and a Terrier/mix and it works excellent on both of their coats. The Lab/mix has typical Lab short hair and sheds a lot; the brush does an excellent job removing hair that would otherwise end up on my floor.
