Answer:	There is phosphorus in meat. Crave is a high meat food. So it stands to reason that this food contains more phosphorus than a low meat cat food. If your cat has CKD I might suggest another brand. Low phosphorus food isn’t good for a healthy cat. There has been nothing showing that a high meat or high phosphorus diet causes CKD in cats.

Answer:	I hope you didn't switch your 14 year old cat to this high, high protein diet, without first running lab work through your vet. High protein is GREAT for young cats, but as they age, their kidneys wear out. A very high protein diet for an aging cat can be highly counterintuitive because in some cats, it makes the kidneys work TOO hard. Another issue is that super pure, "health" food cat food is often rejected in taste by elderly cats, and it's very important to maintain caloric intake, especially in aging and overweight cats. In some cats, suddenly not eating enough due to not liking a new diet can cause a nightmare mess with the liver called feline lipidosis (you can google it...). It can also cause gastro-intestinal issues, which is a fancy way of saying she can get big time diarrhea. At 14, if she's thriving and happy, I'd say leave it be. As cats age, it's important to keep food interesting and palatable for them, as they get even pickier. So I would also consider adding wet food - it's a great way to keep them hydrated, among many other benefits. Best of luck - happy/healthy at 14 is thanks to great pet ownership, too! :)

Answer:	Catinfo.org has some good information on feeding diabetic cats. Diabetic cats should eat foods that are less than 10% carbs. That's hard to find. The owner of that site is a vet and recommends not feeding dry at all, but while transitioning she uses Evo which is around 5% carbs. Maybe 9%. I forget now. That said, my diabetic cat was a dry food junkie. He wouldn't eat at one point so I had to find a dry that wouldn't raise his blood sugar. I ended up using Young Again Pet Foods Zero Carb dry food. It's 0.4% carbs. He had no sugar spikes while eating it. He even went into remission (no insulin) while eating. It's expensive and special order but cost pennies next to the cost of insulin.

Answer:	As I recall, the pellets were fairly small. My dog was a Brussels Griffon and about 18 pounds. Unfortunately I lost him a couple years and I haven’t ever use that food again. My current Griffyn is only 9 pounds and he would not be able to eat at the pallets either. I am Feeding him a raw dehydrated patty diet right now and it seems to be working with his digestive system. I’m very worried about recalls in the prescription that that foods right now. Science diet just had another one with Hills. Really check out this brand before feeding it to your dog.

Answer:	The bag does have a zip lock on it but I don't know how well it works. I bought the 60-69 quart IRIS Airtight Pet Food Storage Container that holds an entire bag, which keeps the food fresh. I use one bag month so I don't know how long it would stay fresh even in the container. I've been using Core for a couple of years. I believe it keeps their weight where it should be and their teeth clean. I also mix in a tablespoon of Wellness Grain-Free Canned Dog Food to enhance the flavor of the meal. My dogs weight around 15 pounds each. I feed a half cup with a tablespoon of canned in the morning and half cup in the evening.
Question:	Did the recipe change with the new packaging for the chicken? My cat has only eaten this food for years will not touch it now
Answer:	I feed the large breed and have 3 dogs who get 3-3.5 cups per day each and one 26 lb bag will last 7 days. When I was feeding the ocean they get less since the kibbles are smaller. That would last nearly 2 weeks feeding 3 dogs 2.5 cups per day.
