To keep the pump clean of gunk and slime build up that will shorten the life of the water pump motor, while i am cleaning the fountain bowl i add a half cup of white vinegar to the water and let the water circulate for 10 - 15 minutes.

Answer:	Not sure why it says that. I would have questioned that had I seen it too. I got one 7lb. Bag. For my order. Great value, compared to grocery stores.

Answer:	I have 2 kittens and a 16# bag of food which lasted about 1-1/2 - 2 months. With one kitten, figure about double that time (a very rough rule-of-thumb guess), but you will want to keep the food fresh--in the bag, in her bowl. Cats don't like "stale" food. :-)
Question:	I'm caring for an emaciated stray cat..Will this help with weight gain
Answer:	Yes, it contains a little more nutrition and fats than regular cat food. But mix it with what you have been feeding at first. Some cats get sick (vomit and diarrhea) because it's richer than regular cat food. When I have a thin nursing mama cat, I feed it to her while her kittens are learning to eat hard food. It helps her regain her weight that the kittens have taken from her.

Answer:	We have 2 dogs and give each one pump (maybe more of a half pump, though, to be fair) per day. I bought this february of 2020. It’s now January of 2023 and I’m still on the same bottle! I think it’s almost done, but so far, that’s roughly 670 pumps? Granted, we might have missed a day here and there, too. But it lasts a while!

Answer:	Yes they are small pellets. My kittens did not have any problem eating them.

Answer:	This answer is by no means scientifically correct but it may put you in the ballpark. I do not use a cup to serve up this food. I dish it up by handsfull. I just measured that it takes 6 handsful to fill a measuring cup. The seven pounds last about one month with approximately one cup served each day. Per my math that would be about 30 cups of food.
Question:	How long should I feed my cat kitten food? At what age would she be considered an adult
Answer:	I don't know. I use it for my adult cats because it has higher protein and fat than adult formulas. All felines are obligate carnivores. They're designed by Mother Nature to eat meat. This food isn't species appropriate, but better than most. I supplement with wet food. Wet food is better than dry. The best way to feed is to make your own with raw meat, bones and other supplements in a grinder. Lots of recipes out there on the internet. Time and budget are considerations for me. To make regular cat food a bit better add a little krill oil and supplemental vitamins. Give them small pieces of meat when you cook meat at meal time. That will help keep them healthy. Answer:	I would think so, I have two cats that share it, one weighs 18# and the other on a little less, maybe 15#. They both jump on it at the same time and the size is very good for them both to sleep and I even keep their food bowl up there, I did put the house to the side to give more room for a food bowl, but there is a hole there for a rope, which I did not put on, and put the house to the front side, where that hole is. Be sure and tighten down the bolts and you will be good to go. I is a very large cat tree, so be prepared for that. Love it and my fur babies love it.... I am 84 years old and put it together by myself, so it is easy to do, just follow the instructions.

Answer:	There are two levels inside and three more cardboard boxes inside with holes in them, two on the upper level and one on the lower level. You can "hide" the treats inside the interior boxes, and the cat has to find them and then figure out how to get them out. You could certainly make this puzzle box yourself if you're that kind of engineering and artistically inclined.

Answer:	Wow, interesting thought! They do make feeding bowls that slow down cats from eating to fast. Honestly though, if you do a dry food I could see this being a great challenge for both the hunt and slowing down the cat! This is a VERY sturdy box, I am impressed my cats have not clawed it and broken or tore anything yet. I feed their daily treats in the box. They all love it, and actually take turns getting treats out of the box.

Answer:	If you are using dry food, with the cat watching, stick your finger in and flick some pieces out. That's how my cats do this and it does cause them to eat slower which is the purpose.

Answer:	Yes! Temptations treats work well with these feeders. My big Maine Coons had trouble getting their mouths into the depressions, but solved this by scooping the treats out of the depressions with their paws. Temptations treats can also be dropped through the holes in the raised knobs for maximum difficulty thus requiring them to move the leaf, slide the knob over the depression, so the treats drop into it, and then slide the knob off of the depression to expose the treats. Some cats may get frustrated if you don't work them up to this gradually as the maker suggests. My cats were already accustomed to scooping food out of a Catit slow feeder with their paws, which may have made have made it easier for them to adapt.
Question:	How long shold you keep your cat on kitten food? This is my first time having cats, so I'm not sure when to switch to the adult food
Answer:	My cats will not eat the food at the bottom and they will not use their paws. I would only get this if your cat uses their paws to get at things. The ridges are very hard.
