Answer:	It's also heavy enough full of water that a cat such as that one won't be able to move it. It also comes with a small pad as pictured that has very good friction. I have a cat that's either a Savannah or from a Lynx line. I think I've seen it called a Desert Lynx. Either way, he's large, strong, very curious, and obsessed at time with moving the water fountain whether playing or ticked he isn't getting more food. I've had not problems with this fountain and doing that. Also, it's tall enough that he drinks from it comfortably. He's a tall cat and like the even tall fountain on my other one so I'm glad this worked out.

Answer:	I tend to add water at the top as my dog drinks out of it also and depletes the water supply. However I do take it apart and clean it every week which is very easy and then I fill it up at that time. It only takes a few minutes to take it apart , clean it, fill it and put it back together. Really easy. I'm 77 so if this old lady can do it, you can too.

I did some research and found this: Do not use distilled water as distilled water is acidic and could lower your cat’s urine pH below 6 which could cause stones or crystals. Reverse osmosis or alkaline water should likewise be avoided. The use of pH modified water should only be considered when your cat’s urine pH is outside of the 6.5 pH norm and should be done under veterinary supervision.

Answer:	As taken from my fountain manual: "Flashing green light: the filter needs to be replaced. Press the O for 5 seconds after replacement, the orange light goes out after the beep prompt sound is heard. The reset is successful and the timing of filter will be reset." From the diagram it looks like the O is on the backside of the fountain where you plug things in. Did you try resetting the filter timer? If not, maybe that is the quick and easy fix! Otherwise, I don't know what it could be.

You can also take the stainless steel tray out and pour the water in. One way I won't fill it is by lifting the unit off the floor and filling it from the tap. If your pump has seemingly stopped working in a short period of time, it may just simply need to be lubricated. To do this, disassemble the pump (like you would for your normal weekly cleanings), and thoroughly wash and dry all three parts. Next, place a drop of edible oil (such as olive or vegetable) on the motor pin. Finally, reassemble the pump, reassemble the fountain, add water, and you should be good to go! Answer:	about 3 quarts or 96 ounces if filled to the rim. 100 oz will not fit

Answer:	We love this water bowl as well as all three of our cats. Never had water splash out. We do keep a towel under it just in case. The only time it makes noise is when it needs more water. Air siphoning. Let's us know they are using it. There is a variable motor on the pump to also control pressure and noise.

Answer:	I have another Drinkwell model and when it is noisy as described, it means that the lever on the filter is not set low enough (should be around 2:00 setting — keep inching it towards 3:00 until the noise stops, but never should be as low as the full 3:00 position) OR there’s not enough water in the bowl for the filter engine to run smoothly. But the filter is being ruined if you’re getting that loud noise, so you need to fix one or both of the two things above or turn it off. Operation should be quiet!

Answer:	I keep my fountain running 24/7 and it's right outside my bedroom as well. I keep my bedroom door partially closed bit the fountain does not bother me. Although I can hear it during the day when all is quiet. It is more of a soothing sound to me. I would say if the sound is going to bother you get a flowing type fountain not one that drips. Aside from that I really recommend this fountain it is my favorite one and is easiest to clean.

Answer:	I have this fountain for my cats and love it . I have two cats and I found that when I would change the filter every month the filter would be DISGUSTING. It was slimy and almost like it had a slimy mold/moss growing on the filter (the debris it collected even seemed slightly green-tinted). I've always used my Britta filtered water in this so I decided to give it a try without the filter and it works perfectly fine. I change the water weekly and there are no issues. I feel like because this design is so low to the grown and large a lot of dust/dirt/debris from the floor plus cat fur and cat spit ends up in it so I'm happy replacing their water every week. Also, I'd never want to drink water that old.

Answer:	I had to buy one from Chewy.com. Never heard back from the manufacturer or Amazon. "Buyer be ware"
Question:	Has anyone experienced black specs in the water? I just got mine and thought I rinsed the charcoal filter but I still have specs of debris
Answer:	It's charcoal from the filter because it's brand new. Every new filter will have a small amount of charcoal particles that are tiny enough to fit through the fiber outer covering of the filter. They will disappear after the fountain is used and emptied a couple of times. They also some to the bottom of the bowl because they are denser than water, but they aren't dangerous if ingested. Infact, activated charcoal in much larger quantities is what is given orally to pets and people if a toxic substance or poison is ingested. It bonds with certain toxins and poisons so that they are not absorbed by the body and pass safely in the stool.
Question:	How difficult is this to clean? Anyone had mold build-up issues
Answer:	I returned it because it was too difficult to clean. I knew that there would a lot of cleaning maintenance to keep it mold-free, and I was prepared for that. However, you can only unplug this at the outlet. There's no disconnect at the bowl itself. And cord for the pump comes up through the bowl, so you need to bring the cord with the bowl to the sink. So, to clean it, we had to un-snake the electrical cord from behind the coffee maker, the toaster and the cutting boards and then re-snake the electrical cord after cleaning. If you have an outlet near your sink (or less clutter in your kitchen), this probably wouldn't be such an issue, but for us the inability to easily bring it to the sink was deal-breaker.
Question:	Is this BPA free
Answer:	According to the box, it said the fountain is made from "FDA Food Grade" plastic, and yes, BPA free. Hope that helps. It's a quiet fountain and has a pretty big capacity. Runs better than several we have tried. On the downside, the spout being right in the center means some of my not-so-bright rescue kitties will lap from the bowl while water flows on to their heads!! Would have been better if the spout was to one side.

Adjustable Flow Switch

• The minimum or “-” creates the mildest flow.
• Starting at the lowest setting is recommended.
• Setting the lever at the maximum setting can cause splashing.

How to clean your pump...

For the longevity of your fountain pump cleaning is essential. Please do the following 1-3 times per month depending on number of animals using the fountain.

1. Unplug.

2. Disassemble and rinse impeller under water.

3. Clear any hair or debris inside pump away.

4. Place impeller back in and spin a few times to set alignment.

5. Reassemble.

Swan Neck Care ...

When cleaning the Swan neck, we recommend using the extended brush used for backpack water reservoir systems (e.g., Camelbak) as we are currently in the process of designing a brush exclusively for the neck of the swan. Answer:	I don't think any of their blue wilderness products have corn in them. They're mostly meat but some do have potatoes and/or rice.
Question:	How often do I need to change the filter
Answer:	These answers, though old, are wholly inaccurate! My veterinarian has said, cats don't like cold food. In the wild, their prey is warm, therefore, refrigeration is discouraged. Cover the can with a cat food lid, or place inside a sealed plastic container (not a ziplock type bag, but like a Tupperware bowl) and leave on counter, or inside a cabinet out of sight. Canned food can be left out for up to 48 hours, in the average air conditioned home (72-75 degrees fahrenheit) without spoilage or contamination. If your home is kept at a higher temp, or you lack A/C, then I'm afraid you may have to resort to refrigeration to prevent spoilage. But even in those conditions, if you know you'll use the entire can in a day (no more than 12-24 hours), it is fine to keep at room temperature as stated above.

Clean the Pump to Extend Using Life

It's Important to clean the pump time from time and by cleaning the pump it will extent the longevity of fountain.

Please Clean the Pump every 2 weeks at least.

1. Remove the Foam Filter from the Pump Cover.
2. Unscrew the nail from the pump cover( store the nail aside).
3. Remove the Pump Cover and the Impeller( carefully remove the Impeller).
4. Use small brush to clean inside with soap and warm water slowly and gentle.
5. Put them back together step by step.

Question:	Will this model automatically turn off when it runs out of water? I'm leaving town for 3 days
Answer:	In my experience no it does not have an automatic shut off. But if you fill it up and only have one cat I think it would last the three days. I have three cats drinking from one, and 4 skunks drinking for another one and the water lasts about three days for them. (My skunks are educational animals)

Answer:	It doesnt really pool in the basin. It flows through the holes right away. My cats drink directly from the fountain spouts. They absolutely love it. My two kittens drink the entire 2.4 liters every week. I'm sure your cats will love it too.
